advanced steadily through today's
session.
Late in the session gains rang
ing to more than 2 points spread

exceptions were the aircrafts,
where losses ranged to more than
a point in Douglas. This group
still felt the lniiuence 01 a reduced
dividend by United Aircraft.
A higher dividend for Johns
Manville sent that stock soaring
nearly 4 points to Its 1945 high.
A dividend increase also sent
Allied stores to a new high. Ameri-

Southern Pacific and Union Pa
cific with gains of more than a
point each featured the rails
where Northern Pacific was ac
tive. Utilities had a. small gain
on balance. Store shares rose
with Allied.. Marshall Field and
Ji C. Penney made new highs,
the latter up 2 points. Motors,
steels, oils, and farm implements
firmed.
