Hears Veteran
Redmond, April 25 (Special)
His thrilling experiences while
serving as a member of the 82nd
paratroopers, were related yester
day to members of the Redmond
Chamber of commerce by Sgt.
Sylvester Meigs, graduate of the
Redmond union high school and
former athletic star. Sgt. Meigs
addressed the chamber members
at their noonday meeting in the
banquet room of the Redmond
hotel.
Sgt. Meigs, who was wounded
several times and is now hospital-1
ized In the Barnes hospital, Van-j
couver, Wash., was in combat
service at Casa Blanca, Salerno
Normandy beachhead and the Bel- i
glum bulge. He recently married :
an English girl, and he expects
his bride to arrive in the states
soon, to be near him while he is
in the hospital.
