Prices Come Back
On Stock Market

New York, March 10 HP) Pres
sure lifted on the stock market
today on sharply contracted trad
ing. Prices came hack fractions
1o more than a point over a fair
ly broad list.
Issues hardest hit in the selling
of the past two sessions the
rails and steels were prominent
on the upturn. Preferred utilities
had gains ranging to more than
a point. Leading motors strength
ened. An Improved tone came Into
airlines, oils, mercantlles, and
communications.
United States Steel rose nearly
a point and Bethlehem more than
a point. In the motors, Packard
was active and off a small frac
tion while Chrysler gained more
than a point. Santa Fe led the
rails with a VA point gain. Park
& Tilford gained more than 2
points while Hiram Walker lost
a point. Westinghouse Electric
rose 2 points.
International Telephone led in
turnover and rose more than a
point. Chemicals firmed in light
dealings. Sears Hoehuck gained
more than a point.

out of there," Mrs. Shupe re
marked. The Bend marine wrote that the
morale of the marines is "tip top",
and added that his platoon con
sisting of 32 fighters "is intact."

Faces New Count
Arrested in I.akeview on a war
rant charging him with a morals
offense involving a boy, Chester
Williams, IS, today was at lllx'ity
here on $500 hail pending trial in
circuit court. Williams had pre
viously been arrested on a slmi

freedom through arrangement 1
with the court, and been working
in Lnkeview.
The suspect was returned here
late yesterday by Sheriff Claude
L. McCauley and was arraigned
before Justice of the Peace Wil
son George, who set the 5500 bond.
