New York, Oct. 21 Mi The stock market developed a iirmer tendency today in volume double that of a week ago. Bonds were firm with u. b issues and foreign loans higher. Com modities were steadv to firm. - Improvement in the share market hinged on the German statement denying further peace moves; re ceipts of the first big foreign war order 2,000 trucks valued at 000: and further business improve ment Truck stocks stood out from the start, many rising to new highs on word that the French had placed the 2,000-truck order. Studebaker open ed 12,000 shares at 9V and then rose to a new high at 9 up . ' Other truck shares to make new tops were Mack at 31 up 1; Dia mond T Motor at 9V4 up , and White at 14V4, up lMi. Clark Equip ment, makers of truck parts, reached a new high at 33 up IVi. Interna tional Harvester, also a truck pro ducer, rose a point. Motors, motor equipments, and rubbers made fractional gains. Pine Forest Pine Forest, Oct. 21 (Special) Pine Forest grange held iti annual booster night program. Seventy were present with 14 visitors. The grange was opened by tho master, Mrs. P. K. Reidei. Among these are the fight for reduced freight rates, and fire insurance rales. Also for public ownership of utilites, for home owned instead of foreign products. The grange is against monopolies, has sponsored 4-H clubs, grange cooperations, and fought to keep county extension agents. A group of songs were sung by a quartette composed of Myrtle and Neva Ives. George Klossen and Hoy Benson. George Roberts told of the work og the agriculture committee, George Klassen of the social com mittee and George Murphy of the executive committee. The definition of the word "Americanism" was read by Mrs. Cary Chambers, as was also an article on "The Granne Lead ers." Solos were sung by Dorothy Reidei accompanied bv her mother. Guitar and piano solos were given by Lrnnora and Evelyn Walwith. Mrs Gilliland gave piano solos and the evening was concluded with games and lunch.
