have been planted in Scott lake, just

trail leading to Deer hutte. in the

each truck holding 33 cans of the

to motorists.
Another truck load of the young
trout was taken to Frog camp, north
east of the pass highway, yesterday.

mountain stream They are kept in
the cool water until the return of the

Aside from Linton lake, formerly

Ken:le slope, which has been Bad
very accessible to people of Bend as
a result of the completion of the pass
highway, was virtually barren of
trout. When the present trout ma
ture. It is believed that the MrKenzic
slope lakes will provide angling equal
to that found in many of the innum
erable lakes east of the divide.

North Sister Climb
The Caacadiattl mountaineers of
Washington who established- their
summer camp on the west slope of
the Three SIsterH August S. have
climbed both the South and Middle
Sister and this week will climb the
North Sister, most difficult of the
triad of mountains.
With their base camp no! far from
the McKenzie pass highway, at Krog
camp, tlii' alpinists transported part
of their food and equipment to Cnmp
Montague, not far from the snow
line. From this camp, they have lit
tle difficulty in scaling the glacier
peaks in a day.
The Washington mountaineers are
finding the Three Sisters region an
unusual outing ground. The sides
of the mountains above tin- timber
line, and even above the snow line,
are mantled with a muss of vari
colored flowers. The dominant color
of the mountain meadows just now
is ri, furnished by the Indian pulnl
brush. ,
