Pro fessionals were active on the fthori side, forcing recessions of from one i to three points in stocks like Mack I Truck. General Klectric. Baldwin and other tearing Industrials. Hearlshness In professional circles appeared to he largely due to the ab sence of public participation in the stock. ' Stocks were not forthcoming for covering purposes and the general list acted better in the afternoon, with the oils displaying tnosi of the enthusiasm on the upside. The market closed lower.
