TAGE 2 A farewell party for Miss Marie O'Brien, local girl who left this morning for Portland to make her home, was given last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Turner, n number of Miss O'Brien's friends being present to enjoy dancing and cards. Speakers were Miss Harriett l"m baugh, principal; Franklin Forrester, Miss Lena Deeg, Chester Klink, of the faculty; Loyde Blakley, Ervin McNeal, Dorsey Moore, Michael Ma honey, Dorothy Dodds, Helen Ma- honey, Wilbur Watkins, Bryan Trlp- lett, Mildred Hoover of the class play cast; and Buell Orrell, Gurdon Dutt, William Newton, Ed Xorcott, Alice Stockmon, Louise Inabnit and Erta Scott. a a a A joint meeting of the Legion post and the auxiliary Is to be planned for Thursday evening, June 1, it was decided at Thursday night's brief meeting of the auxiliary. A de cision to have a program following each meeting of the auxiliary was also made. The auxiliary is con tinning with Its work for the Red Cross. a a a Tbe ladles of the luncheon club entertained their husbands at a pleasant dinner party Thursday eve ning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Foss, 1426 West 3rd street. After dinner cards were played and dancing enjoyed. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. J. C. Vandevert and Louis Bennett. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, Dr. and Mrs. Vandevert, Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Stadter, Mr. and .Mrs. Ashley For rest, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Goodman, and H. H. DeArmond. whose wife is a member but is out of town. A delightful surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. Hans Slagsvold at their home on Delaware avenue Monday evening by a large number of friends. The evening was enjoyed with vari ous kinds of entertainment at the close of which lunch was served by the ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Slagsvold were pre sented with a beautiful electric per colator and silver service. Those present were R. H.
