Strahom is the plaintiff in a suit filed here to recover 172,000 from the Oregon-California & Eastern Railroad Company. The plaintiff, in his allegations, sets forth that only some (100,000 of a $600,000 con tract entered into with the railroad lu May, 1919, whereby certain fran chises and property rights of the plaintiff were to be transferred to the company, was paid to him. The defendant, represented by James G. Wrlson, contends that an amendment made to the interstate commerce act, effective June 20, 1920, prohibited such a transaction. The Sorosis Club for Women. Knorr, better known as "Duffy." one of the scrappiest pugil ists ever developed in Central Oregon, this afternoon married Miss Maude Butler, Redmond school teacher. County Judge R. W. Sawyer per formed the marriage ceremony. Knorr is from Terrebonne, but has fought in Bend a number of times, and is widely known In this city. The young couple had planned their wed ding for Portland to be held follow ing a fight for which "Duffy" was tentatively signed. Illness, however, prevented the Terrebonne boxer from filling one ring engagement, and the second ring date was changed to Bend. The World and Art. People love pictures.
