This com munity is very sorry to have Mr. atid IV) rs. A. B. Matthews and family move away. Mr. Matthews' broiher-in-Iaw will operate the ranch property at Deschutes which Mr. Matthews is leaving. Miss Elzetta Deblng ot Deschutes was in Bend on business Saturday. She will remain there until Sunday. Mrs. It. W. Stanky of Deschutes, who has boon visiting her mother. Mrs. Metcalt of Portland, returned to her home in Deschutes Sunday morning. A very enjoyable program was giv en Monday by Miss Chapman's room in Tumalo. A large valentine box was given and all the children en joyed their valentines. Mrs. E. B. Johnson, Everett Johnson and Mrs. Fred Wallace were visitors. Mr. and Mrs. S. Debing and two sons were business callers at the Johnson home Monday. E. J. Con ley of Deschutes was a business visitor in Bend Tuesday. C. W. Nelson of Deschutes accom panied Mrs. Minnie Lowe to Bend Tuesday. Mrs. Lowe has been tak ing care of her daughter-in-law dur ing her illness. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Matthews and family of Deschutes were visitor In Redmond Monday evening. Mrs. Opal Walker of Redmond is visiting Miss Leona Matthews of Des chutes. A dance was given at the Branden burg ranch Saturday evening near Deschutes. An enjoyable time was had. Lunch was served by the ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson and chil dren of Deschutes were visiting in Bend Saturday. Many people of this neighborhood were in Bend Saturday to take ad vantage of Booster day bargains. Miss Opal Walker and Miss Leona Matthews were business visitors In Tumalo Saturday. Mrs. C. W. Nelson of Deschutes gave a valentine party for her chil dren Saturday. Mrs. George Holteii of Deschutes gave a party at her home Monday. Mr. De Lowe of Bend was a visitor in this neighborhood Wednesday. Mrs. C. W. Nelson of Deschutes was a visitor at the Ed M. Swalley home Wednesday. Mrs. Swalley Is serious ly ill. J. R. Be nh am and Henry Anderson of Deschutes are moving and repair ing fence this week. A farewell party was given in hon or of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Matthews and family Tuesday evening. A large number of the neighbors attended. Miss Myrtle Johnson of Deschutes, spent Wednesday night with Irene Matthews. Mrs. Laura Landlngham. who has been caring for Mrs. Swalley, re turned to her home Wednesday. Gladys Jarrard of Tumalo spent several days with Marvel Cooley. Funeral services were held Wed nesday at Tumalo for the Swalley baby. Henry Anderson of Paulina, who is visiting with J. R. Ben ham of Des chutes, was a business caller In Bond Wednesday. Mrs. R. L. Thurston and Mrs. C. W. Parks were visitors at Mrs. A. B. Matthews' home in Deschutes Thurs day afternoon. Walter Lowe purchased a load of alfalfa hay from A. B. Matthews Thursday. Bob Moore of Portland Is visiting his uncle, J. R. Benham of Des chutes. Myrtle Johnson of Deschutes spent several days with Jeanette Mitchell of Tumalo. Jerry Schooling of Deschutes was a visitor at the J. R. Benham ranch Saturday. F. S.
