The attention which has boon called to the burning of certain missionary schools in the Chlentao district on the Korean bor der which were suspected of being used as headquarters for insurgent Korean bands, has once more brought the missionary question to the fore In Japan. The Hochi, a sensational sheet with considerable circulation, sug gests that it may be best to exclude missionaries from Japan, just as the United States excludes Japanese la borers from her shores. "Christian missionaries are dis turbing the peace of the Orient," says the Hochi. "Not ouly do they instigate rebellion in China and Korea, but they dare do so even In this country. Should we not follow the example of America and prohibit the entry into this country of mis sionaries?" Christianity is assailed from an other angle by the Kokumln, which, as has several other papers, ex presses the belief that this religion is becoming altogether too temporal. Now there are scores of women clerks and other employes and they have received def inite recognition as members of the house. Pearl Fishers In Sea All Year. The epochal events of the world, like the great accomplishments of nature, have been the result of slow but constant growth; Be thrifty with your time. Wasted hours are lost and gone for ever, but the hours given to construc tive labor or study will remain as faithful friends to belp and strength en you through all the years of your Ufe. Diplomatic Youngster. Ilarold was often allowed to visit his grandmother, hm was always told the hour he should elurn home. On arriving at Ms grandmother's one morning be was asked how long be could stay. "Well, grandmother. I don't remember whether mother said ten o'clock or three o'clock, but I'll go home after dinner and ask ber." Suicide Among Musicians Rare. It has been found that suicide Is very uncommon among musicians. Bchumnnn attempted It, and It Is also recorded of Tscbalkowsky, but rases of mnsiclans who have "killed them selves are very rare. It Is said that these facts are so, because of the mental composure and balance fos tered by music.
