"You can grip success better with hare hands than with kid gloves," Is a Schwab-made maxim much to the point. Ford's oft-repeated declaration, "Money Is the most useless thing In the world." gives you a sidelight on his character. It was James X Hill who copied the phrase that It was not so much the lilch cost of living that affected the country as "the cost of high liv ing." One of the most famous of all mod em business mottoes was that origi nated by J. P. Morgan. "You can't unscramble an omelet." There was deeper economic meaning in these .five words than anyone realized at the time they were uttered, nnmely, when It wns first whispered that the gov ernment contemplated a suit to dis solve the bllllon-dnllur combination. Tackling a Job. There nre two ways to tackle a Job. One sees In It no reason to bo thank ful for a busy useful day, rather every cause for dissatisfaction. An eternal grind proposition confronts such a per son, whoso fnult-tliidlugs get him no where anil who sees In the dally task he has to perform only a "life sen tence." On the other hand, there Is tho opti mist, who has the faculty of naturally adopting the happier frame of mind lie sees his Job as Indeed a real esseii' tial and himself a most necessary part of a great and good scheme. To him his position is an opportunity which, If he will only take It at Its worth, will he a stepping stone to broader Ileitis and higher Ideals. The World's Largest Boct.
