To escape the barrage he was compelled lo take cover in a position from which he knew escape was Impossible, a single American moving there would "bo certain to bring out posts upon him. A stronger Force could fight the outposts off, or possibly gel back lo its lines without combat because enemy outposts would nol care to atari trouble with superior numbers.
