    FACTS AND FANCIES.
Mahriagb Made Eaby. Dear Mas.
Grundy. If you're a widow, and want
to gel married, (which oj courseyou do)
just you do. us we girls have done.
This is the Way wo mnnaged it:
As eoon an pa heard about the young
woman in Washington who ehot a
baso wretch who had written to her,
pa gave mo a. beautiful repeating rifle.
I shot a young man with it that very
day. lie had once sent mo some
strawberries when I was ill, and then
didn't follow it up as he should have
done; so I had a clear right to shoot
bim.
, Then I got the girls to form a socioi
ty, and all got riflo3 themsolves, and
then we agreed upon the form of a
lottor to be sent to marriageable young
men. The lottor was like this:
"Sir: You may romember that you
onco waved your handkerchief at mo
(Or sent me a bouqnot, or took mo out
to drive, as the case may be). I beg
leave to inform you that I have bocomo
pOHBObcd of a repeating rifle of great
power. You will see the propriety of
at onco fulfilling the promise which I
have every reason to consider lhalyou
linvo made mo.
Yours, etc .".
Well, erch one of us sent ten or a
dozsn loiters to different fellows, and
iho result was as they all, with ono
exception, came, within twenty four
hours, and offcrod themselves to tho
Indies who had signed tho letters.
AVe nil took our pick, of course, and all
expect to bo married in tho fall.
.The wretch who didn't obov the de
mand made In tho letter ho received,
was shot a few days afterwards, ns ho
was getting into the train in order to
esonpe to Cunada.
Now, J'ou dear old soul, just follow
our example, and I'll veuture to say
that you'll be married in next to no
timo at all. Yours, triumphantly.
Flora De Evefelle.

"And what would yotl do there f" in
quired one of her intimate friends.
"What ? why, I would let tho men

"Pa," Biid a littlo seven-year fel.
low. "I guoss our man Ealph is a

in the Bible that tho wicked shall not
