The Umatilla Rural Fire Pro-
tection District 7-405 Board is
seeking applications to be con-
sidered for appointment to the
Board. This position was creat-
ed by Board Member Resigna-
tion. This appointment is effec-
tive until the end of the elected
term of June 30, 2023. This is a
public service position and the
person appointed will not be a
paid member of the Umatilla Ru-
ral Fire Protection District 7-405.
Requirements: Board members
must be a legally registered vot-
er, a resident within the district,
Not an employee or volunteer
of the Umatilla Rural Fire Pro-
tection District. Able to attend a
minimum of one monthly board
meeting. Please submit letter of
interest to the District by Friday

and date. Port of Morrow will be
acting as the General Contrac-
tor for this project.
Port of Morrow reserves the
right to award or reject for good
cause, any or all bids, or to post-
pone the award of the contract
upon finding that it is in the pub-
lic interest to do so. Each bid
must contain a statement as
to whether the bidder is a resi-
dent bidder, as defined in ORS
279a.120. The bidder is subject
to all requirements regarding
the payment of Prevailing Wage
Rates per Public Works Project
ORS 279c.800 to 279C.850.

Umatilla Rural Fire Protection
District (District) requests pro-
posals for an engineering/ archi-
tectural firm to design and over-
see the seismic retrofit of Fire
Stations 11 and 12. The District
plans to award a contract to the
highest ranked proposer. The
anticipated contract or contracts
will include: all design work; site
analysis; assistance with CM/
GC exemption; solicitation and
award process; construction
oversight; and procurement of
all necessary government per-
mits.

NOTICE
TO: Patrons, Parents,
Students, Staff and Other
Interested Persons.
On December 17, 1988, con-
gress signed into law an
act titled “Asbestos Hazard
Emergency Response Act
(AHERA)”. This law directed
all schools, public and private,
to inspect building for asbes-
tos containing materials, de-
velop an inventory and pre-
pare a plan for management
of asbestos containing mate-
rials in the buildings.
Pendleton School District
16R, utilizing the services of
professional inspectors and
consultants, has completed
this directive for all District
buildings. These Manage-
ment Plans have been sub-
mitted to the State Depart-
ment of Education and are
available for review in the
Administration Office. These
plans are available for your
convenience during regular
business hours, 7:30 A.M. to
4:30 P.M. Copies are available
with advance notice and pay-
ment of $25.00 to cover copy-
ing costs.
The School District is required
to conduct ongoing surveil-
lance of asbestos containing
material every six months.
This monitoring will be done
during October and April of
each year. Also required is
notification of any actions to
be taken concerning these
materials.
During the 2021/2022 school
year, any needed patching
and repairing will be done.
