7:01 a.m. — Unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle was
reported on Main Street in Meacham.
11:16 a.m. — Theft was reported on East Catherine Avenue
in Hermiston.
11:32 a.m. — A resident of Southeast Hager Street in Hep-
pner reported to police that a man was trying all his doors try-
ing to get inside the home, and tried to sell him meat products
when confronted.
11:38 a.m. — A cellphone was reported stolen on South
Water Street in Weston.
1:34 p.m. — Theft was reported on South Highway 395 in
Hermiston.
2:58 p.m. — Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies responded to
a motor vehicle accident at Bonney’s Ag & Auto Repair on High-
way 395 North in Hermiston.
3:17 p.m. — A disturbance was reported on North Broad
Street in Weston.
3:48 p.m. — A car prowl was reported on West Elm Avenue
and Northwest 11th Street.
4:13 p.m. — Umatilla police responded to a motor vehicle
accident on Highway 730 and Highway 395 North near Umatilla.
4:47 p.m. — A wedding ring was reported stolen by a resi-
dent of West Juniper Avenue in Hermiston.
5:23 p.m. — Theft was reported on North First Street in
Hermiston.
6:41 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on North-
west 11th Street in Hermiston.
7:14 p.m. — A disturbance was reported on East Pine Ave-
nue in Hermiston.
9:54 p.m. — Police responded to a reported assault on
Estate Loop in Irrigon.
10:26 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on East
Main Street in Hermiston.

2:46 a.m. — Theft was reported on South Wayne Street in
Stanfield. A second theft report from the same neighborhood
was called in about an hour later.
3:06 a.m. — A disturbance was reported at the Marigold
Hotel on Southeast Court Avenue in Pendleton.
4:48 a.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office was called
to assist with a garage fire at Tom’s Lawn Mower Repair on
Naches Court in Umatilla.
6:07 a.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on West
Fulton Avenue in Hermiston.
6:26 a.m. — A car prowl was reported on West Orchard Ave-
nue in Hermiston.
9:58 a.m. — Theft was reported on South Highway 395 in
Hermiston.
11:12 p.m. — The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office responded
to a reported vehicle fire in Interstate 84 westbound near
Boardman.
12:05 p.m. — Theft was reported from Crossroads Truck
Stop on Sixth Street in Umatilla.
2:28 p.m. — Theft was reported on Southwest 11th Street
in Hermiston.
5:10 p.m. — Theft was reported on Columbia Boulevard in
Umatilla.
6:40 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on West
Linda Avenue in Hermiston.
8:26 p.m. — Child abuse/neglect was reported on West
Hermiston Avenue in Hermiston.
8:31 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported on High-
way 339 in Milton-Freewater.
9:56 p.m. — A report of shots fired was reported by a resi-
dent of Southeast Utah Avenue in Irrigon, but Morrow County
sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate a shooter.
11:41 p.m. — A resident of Chukar Lane in Umatilla reported
shots fired, but Umatilla police were unable to locate a shooter.
MONDAY
2:33 a.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on North
Loop Road in Stanfield.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
•Milton-Freewater police arrested Brian Roy, 47, on a charge
of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
•The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert M. Min-
ton, 39, for violation of a no-contact order (domestic violence).
•Oregon State Police cited and released Matthew Stephen
Haller, 37, of Pasco, Washington, on charges of possession of
heroin and methamphetamine.
•Pendleton police arrested Jeremiah Atwell, 44, on a felony
fugitive warrant.
•Oregon State Police cited and released Dwayne Huxoll, 59,
for DUII and reckless driving.
•Oregon State Police cited and released Alberto Jeronimo
Ahilon, 38, for DUII.
•Pendleton police arrested Dustin Joseph Engel, 35, on fel-
ony charges of first-degree burglary and felon in possession of
a weapon, and misdemeanor charges of menacing, second-de-
gree disorderly conduct and violation of restraining order.
•Umatilla Tribal Police arrested Gabriel Joe Gibson, 47, on
a felony fugitive warrant and for giving false information to
police.

Nov. 20, 1952 — March 31, 2021
Frederick M. “Rick” Sellers, 68, of Hermiston, died
unexpectedly Wednesday, March 31, 2021. He was born
Nov. 20, 1952, in Spokane, Washington. Due to COVID
a private celebration of life service following state guide-

away March
31, 2021, at his
home in Pendle-
ton, Oregon. He
was born June 11, 1944, in
Moscow, Idaho, to Donald
McElroy and Julia Maston
McElroy.
John graduated from
Moscow High School
in 1963, and thereafter
enlisted in the Navy where
he received a National
Defense Service Medal and
a Viet Nam Service medal.
In 1967 he was honorably
discharged from the Navy
in Long Beach, California,
and he spent several years in
California before moving to
Pendleton, Oregon, in 1978
when he bought Shea’s Lock-
ers and Quality Meats.
He enjoyed outdoor life
and was an avid camper,
hunter and especially a fish-
erman. He was a member of
the Eagles, Elks and Camper
Club. He was a volunteer
for the Pendleton
Round-Up for 32
years and Happy
Canyon for 9 years,
and was awarded
with a lifetime pass
to the Pendleton Round-Up.
He also enjoyed garden-
ing, traveling and he loved
animals. His cat, Fuzz, will
miss him.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, sister Patricia
McElroy Wolfe, and daugh-
ter Julie McElroy.
John is survived by his
wife, Kathi Purchase McEl-
roy of Pendleton; son Mike
McElroy; stepchildren Shan-
non Van Dorn and Todd Van
Dorn; brother Denny (Mari-
anne) McElroy of Sheridan,
Oregon; and three nephews.
John was fun loving and
a celebration of life is being
planned at a later date.

NEW ORLEANS — A
casting call for a road trip
movie that will film in Central
Oregon in the summer of
2021 is seeking teens and
young adults ages 18-25 of all
backgrounds, ethnicities and
walks of life to be a part of the
movie. Individuals, groups of
friends, siblings and couples
are encouraged to audition,
and no acting experience is
necessary.
The as-yet untitled move,
directed by Bill and Turner
Ross, will follow four teen-
ager friends as they set off
on an unforgettable adven-
ture across the Pacific North-
west to chase down their
own version of the Ameri-
can Dream. The Ross Bros.
filmmaking style is a hybrid
of fiction and nonfiction, and
the production company is
seeking people who connect
with the story to play them-
selves. Daredevils, fearless
outcasts, misfits and strong
personalities are encouraged
to audition.
Auditions will be sched-
uled through April and May
2021, and the project will film
for approximately 8 weeks
over June and July 2021. All
roles will be paid, and all
travel costs will be covered
by the production.
