Crawford. Nola’s fly out scored gordon and Narváez’s single to shallow cen- ter scored smith. Matt Magill (4-1) allowed one base run- ner in the eighth and ninth innings. José Leclerc (2-4) allowed both runs in the ninth inning on two singles and two walks. The Rangers lost for the fifth time in seven games. Félix Hernández came away with his sec- ond straight no decision after missing more than three months with a lat strain. Hernán- dez allowed all three runs on five hits and struck out three. Lance Lynn gave up three runs, one earned, in six innings. He struck out five, raising his season total to 202 and becom- ing the eighth pitcher in texas club history to strike out 200 or more in a season. seattle scored three runs in the second inning when Lynn hit dylan Moore on the left elbow with the bases loaded. two runs scored when Rangers first baseman Logan Forsythe dropped a throw on a double play try on a ground ball hit by gordon that would have ended the inning. Willie Calhoun homered in the first inning off the facing off the second deck in right field. Calhoun has hit five of Texas’ last nine home runs over 10 games. the rangers scored a run in the fourth inning when scott Heineman nearly hit into a triple play. Heineman hit a ground ball to third with the bases loaded. Kyle RALLY COMPLETE By ANNIE FOWLER East Oregonian B OardMaN — it took a bit for Heppner and riverside to shake off the rust, but once they did volleyball was back in full swing thursday night. the Mustangs (1-0) dropped the first set, but rallied to win the next three for a 15-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 nonleague win over the Pirates. “We are rusty,” Heppner coach Mindy Wilson said. “We have some big spots to fill, and we are trying to see who will fill them, and who will work best in what scenario.” Junior outside hitter sydney Wilson led the Mustangs with 10 kills and 21 digs. “We struggled a little bit, we we came together as a team and got in the groove,” Wilson said. “it’s exciting to step up, be a leader and get the girls ready on the court.” the Pirates (0-1), who trailed 6-0 and 8-3 in the first set before pulling out the win, lost setter alexis Villegas to a knee injury in the second set while holding a 13-12 lead. “she is my starting setter and runs the offense,” river- side coach Marie Cain said. “the girls did well with a cur- veball thrown at them. they did their best out there. Officials announced Thursday that the game will be played saturday at Florida state’s doak Campbell stadium in tal- lahassee and start at noon, seven hours before it was originally scheduled to start in Jacksonville. Jacksonville officials, along with those from Florida state and Boise state, collab- orated on the decision. Florida gov. ron desantis declared a state of emergency Wednesday, urging residents and visitors to take precaution before the storm hits. the decision to move the football game was made to keep fans away from the coastal region ahead of the storm making landfall. “after consulting with emergency responders, law enforcement and hurri- cane preparedness teams at the state and local level, moving the game is the best option given the information we have at this time,” Florida state athletics director david Coburn said. Florida State officials began scurry- ing into action late thursday morning as a crew painted the numerals and hashmarks on the field at Doak Campbell Stadium. It is part of an intense two-day process that also includes adjustments to ticketing as well as arranging security, concessions, parking and other game-day necessities for fans. as part of the short turnaround, the school will make the ticketing general admission and offer free tickets to Florida state and Boise state students. tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 and will be $15 at the gate. it’s second consecutive game for Boise state that has been impacted by the weather. in the last game the Bron- cos played in — the sErVPrO First responder Bowl in dallas against Boston College dec. 26 — was canceled because of the threat of severe weather after a delay of nearly 1½ hours. Cron went deep and the surg- ing Minnesota twins set a major league record for home runs on the road in a 10-5 victory over the Chicago White sox on thursday. Cave led off the third with drive off dylan Cease to give Minnesota 139 homers away from home, eclipsing the mark of 138 set by san Francisco in 2001. Cron, the next hitter, fol- lowed with a homer to center. Cave added a shot in the seventh for his second career multi-homer game, increas- ing the twins’ overall total to 261. the record for homers in a season, 267, was set last year by the New york yankees. Cron doubled and had three rBis in a three-hit afternoon, and Nelson Cruz drove in in three runs as the aL Central leaders won their fifth straight. in sweeping a three-game series with sliding Chicago, Minnesota (82-51) moved to 31 games above .500 for the first time since september 2010. Cave and Cron’s back-to- back homers increased Min- nesota’s lead to 8-0 after the twins had used eight sin- gles and a walk off Cease (3-7) to pull ahead 6-0 after two innings.
