RECORDS Friday, December 14, 2018 FAITH BRIEFS Party features gingerbread houses MILTON-FREEWATER — Holiday crafts, including building gingerbread houses, is featured during a chil- dren’s party in Milton-Freewater. The First Christian Church will host a Children’s Gin- gerbread House Christmas Party Sunday after the chil- dren’s storytime, which occurs during the 10:45 a.m. morning worship service. The church is located at 518 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater. In addition, pizza will be served. Also, the church choir will present a Christmas choir concert “Good News From Home,” a Christmas concert, at 6 p.m. For more information, call 541-938-3854. Hope Lutheran hosts Music Fest HEPPNER — A special music program followed by Christmas caroling is planned by Hope Lutheran Church. The Christmas Music Fest is Sunday at 3 p.m. at the church in Heppner. After the program, people are invited to go Christmas caroling in the community followed by a chili feed. A community event, other musicians who would like to be added to the program are invited to call Pastor Katy Anderson at 541-676-9970. Adventist church sets sing-a-long PENDLETON — People are invited to get into the holiday spirit during a special service at the Pendleton Seventh-day Adventist Church. The audience can pick songs from the hymnal to sing as a group. Also, there will be special performances between songs. The Christmas Sing-A-Long is Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at the church, 1401 S.W. Goodwin Place, Pendle- ton. There won’t be a sermon or offering. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 541-276-0882. MEETINGS FRIDAY, DEC. 14 PUBLIC SAFETY DEATH NOTICES WEDNESDAY Patsy L. Carson 7:49 a.m. — Oregon State Police received a report of a dead cow elk on Bingham Road just east of the Umatilla Indian Res- ervation boundary. Members of the Fish and Wildlife Division found the elk and decided the meat was unfit to eat. They examined the elk at Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife office in Pendleton and determined it died a natural death from falling off a cliff and succumbing to its injuries. 8:04 a.m. — A Hermiston resident reported someone added a cellphone to her account without her permission. 8:40 a.m. — A caller reported theft of toilet paper from Hep- pner’s Main Street Park and finding possible drug paraphernalia. 2:49 p.m. — A caller asked Hermiston police to send an offi- cer to the festival street on Northeast Second Street between Main Street and Gladys Avenue because someone was taking bows from the Christmas trees. 5:11 p.m. — A caller asked Pendleton police to send officers to the bus stop next to the parking lot of the Walmart store, 2203 S.W. Court Ave., for a man who was stopping traffic and hanging on cars to try and get a ride. 5:54 p.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report for a vehicle theft from West Sherman Street, Athena. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Hermiston police arrested Michael Ray Scott Garcia, 37, of Hermiston, for felony methamphetamine possession and vio- lating probation. •Umatilla County Sherif’s Office arrested Kevin M. Aldrich, 60, of Walla Walla, for felony driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended or revoked. •Oregon State Police arrested David Leroy Brown, 48, for fel- ony methamphetamine possession and on four misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear.
