He calculated each step on his way from his motor home to a folding lawn chair sit- ting in a strip of shade. “I gotta whip about three guys, and then I’m going to drive a team,” said Schubert, who broke his pelvis July 11, two weeks after the Oregon Trail Wagon Train embarked on its 73-day jour- ney across Idaho and Oregon. Schubert, 62, was injured when horses bolted and threw him and another man from their wagon near Burley, Idaho.
