RECORDS Wednesday, January 10, 2018 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG MONDAY 8:40 a.m. - A resident of Columbia Crest Apartments, 1500 Second St., Umatilla, called the Umatilla police to report someone had put gas in her vehicle’s gas tank. 8:46 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of large rocks in the road creating a traffic hazard at Willow Creek Road and Black Mountain Lane near Heppner. The call was referred to the Morrow County Road Department. 9:00 a.m. - A vehicle break-in was reported by a resident of Alpine Drive, Hermiston. 10:09 a.m. - Pendleton police received a code complaint about a “tiny house” on property on Southwest Isaac Avenue. 10:37 a.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office took a report of vehicle theft from a residence on Tompkins and Duroc roads, Helix. A second vehicle was reported stolen at 12:08 p.m. from First Stop Mart, 85713 Highway 11, Milton-Freewater. 1:02 p.m. - A resident of East Reeder Drive, Hermiston, reported his returnable can bin was stolen while he was on leave. 2:47 p.m. - Staff at Willowbrook Terrace, 707 S.W. 37th St., Pendleton, reported a theft. 2:49 p.m.- A resident of Northwest Gilliam Avenue, Pendleton, reported a vehicle break-in. 2:52 p.m. - A large carcass, wrapped in a sheet, was dumped at Bombing Range Road and Wilson Lane near Boardman. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office took a report. 4:02 p.m. - A parent called Pendleton police to report his daughter was provided alcohol and attacked by male juveniles at a rental property on Northwest Fifth Street. 4:25 p.m. - Umatilla County sheriff’s deputies were advised of a herd of cattle at large on South Highway 395 outside Pendleton near McKay Dam. 7:09 p.m. - A resident of North Dunne Street, Stanfield, was bitten by his own dog and taken to the emergency room at Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. 11:13 p.m. - A driver on westbound Interstate 84 near Boardman reported a FedEx driver with double trailers was reading a book with the light on while driving. Oregon State Police were notified. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Milton-Freewater police arrested Savannah Michelle Faircloth, 28, of Weston, for possession of heroin. •The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Katelyn Marie Tolar, 19, address not provided, for possession of methamphet- amine. July 5, 1923 - December 30, 2017 Robert (Bob) Eugene Jenson was born May 11, 1931, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Charles and Oral Jenson. He passed away peace- fully on January 6, 2018, surrounded by family at his home in Pendleton. Bob grew up on ranches as his parents moved throughout the Dakotas and Montana. In 1950, Bob married Betty Pegg and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Jenson Medal. After attending Montana State University in 1954 and later moving to Helena, he became a small business owner. He continued studies at Montana State, completing his master’s degree in sociolo- gy/U.S. history in 1967. In the fall of 1967, Bob accepted a position at Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC) teaching sociology and U.S. history. He married Evelyn Bruns on November 12, 1971. During his tenure at Blue Mountain he served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Families (1980), was an Eastern Oregon Regional Airport commissioner (1988- 96), and a member of the Pendleton Transportation Plan Advisory Committee (1995-96). He retired from BMCC in 1993. In 1996, Bob was elected to the Oregon Legislature House of Representatives. He chaired and served on nine major committees during his 18 years of service, commit- ting his energies and expertise to constituents of Eastern Oregon and to priority issues concerning education, senior services, mental health, water resources and agriculture. Bob was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, the church council and Gideon’s Inter- national. He was a Life Master bridge player. He adored his grandchildren and great-grand- children and the Chesapeake Bay Retrievers that were always at his side. In retirement, he enjoyed their cabin at Lostine, reading (especially U.S. history), fishing and watching sports. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and cherished grandson Joshua Jenson. He is survived by his beloved wife Evelyn Jenson (Pendleton); four children (all of Pendleton), Robert and Delores Jenson, Linda and Victor Gehling, Charles and Patti Jenson, and Carol and Jim Aldrich; 11 grandchildren, Kirk Jenson, Kris Jenson, Charles Cook, Crystal Burton, Douglas Aldrich, Jamie Thompson, Jody Deardorff, Jessica Mulvihill, David Aldrich, Annie McBee, and Michael McBee; and 13 great-grand- children. On Saturday, January 13, a private family graveside service with military honors will be observed at Olney Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Peace Lutheran Church, Gideon’s Interna- tional, or Friends of Olney Cemetery.
