COMMUNITY East Oregonian Page 6A Thursday, December 7, 2017 BOARDMAN Kiwanis Club reins in festive fun East Oregonian Although participants might not be dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh, they can experience Christmas magic during Breakfast with Santa. Sponsored by the Boardman Kiwanis Club, the event features a pancake and sausage breakfast, crafts for the kids and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. In addition, Brian and Karli Cook of Equine Elegance will help rein in the fun as they offer horse-drawn wagon rides. The event is Saturday from 8-10 a.m. at the Boardman Senior Center, 100 Tatone St. The cost is $4 per person. The wagon rides have become a seasonal favorite, providing special holiday memories. People of all ages are invited to climb aboard as the horses cloppity-clop around town. To create a festive experience, people are encouraged to sing Christmas carols — laughing all the way. Also, why not make a day of it in Boardman? The SAGE Center is offering free admission and activities for families with chil- dren Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The SAGE Center is located at 101 Olson Road. Columbia Grange announces upcoming meal and events HERMISTON — An all-you- can-eat breakfast and Christmas program are among the upcoming activities at the Columbia Grange. The breakfast is this Saturday from 7-10 a.m. The meal costs $6. The special Christmas program features a potluck meal. The main dish is provided by the grange and those attending are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share. The holiday event is Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. In addition to the meal, the program includes a celebration of the 150-year anniversary of the organization. Also, door prizes will be given away.
