A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Burns Mortuary chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Umatilla. Police did not find the suspect. 6:37 a.m. - Milton-Freewater police received a report of someone driving and damaging grass in Yantis Park, 200 De Haven Avenue. 8:58 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to Roy Raley Park, 1205 S.W. Court Ave., on a report of a domestic disturbance. 3 p.m. - A caller to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reported a mother left her three children in the car while she went into Heppner Family Foods, 238 N. Main St., Heppner, nor was this the first time. 3:27 p.m. - Thieves stole scrap metal from the 400 block of North Main Street, Milton-Freewater. 7:29 p.m. - A caller with Bucknum’s, 152 N. Main St., Heppner, reported the business was the victim of check fraud. 11:50 p.m. - A caller reported an assault and disturbance at the Riverside Sports Bar & Lounge, 1501 Sixth St., Umatilla. SATURDAY 4:15 a.m. - Umatilla police responded to a report of a person trying to break into a home on Columbia Avenue, but officers did not find anyone. 10:24 a.m. - A man in Weston said a vehicle on Highway 204 struck and killed his dog. 11:06 a.m. - Oregon State Police received a report of a man trying to illegally buy a gun at Smitty’s Ace Outpost, 1825 Highway 395, Hermiston. Rodolfo Ace Carrillo, 27, of Umatilla pinged on the state’s background check system because he has a warrant for his arrest. He also could face charges for unlawful purchase of a firearm, providing false information for transferring a firearm and false swearing. 1:36 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of possible domestic abuse at a residence in Irrigon. 4:31 p.m. - Morrow County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Southeast Eighth Street, Irrigon, and made the male half leave. SUNDAY 2:03 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a prowler at Indian Hills Village Apartments, 1335 S.W. Second St. There was no report of police finding anyone. 3:07 a.m. - A male called 9-1-1 and reported he was on East Reeder Drive, Hermiston, and he grabbed a female by the neck. 10:46 a.m. - Something killed livestock on Washington Lane, Irrigon. A man reported he found a few dead chickens, but didn’t think much of it at the time. But now two pigs are dead, he said, and it looks like something gnawed on them. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy took a report. 7 p.m. - Residents on West Sperry Street, Heppner, reported a break-in at their home. 8:24 p.m. - A caller reported the theft of a vehicle from DaVita Hermiston Community Dialysis Center, 1155 W. Linda Ave., Hermiston. 10:19 p.m. - One neighbor on Southeast Eighth Place, Hermiston, told police another neighbor caused problems over parking issues. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office at about 7:30 p.m. responded to a report that a vehicle ran off the eastbound side of Interstate 84 near Boardman, and two males were arguing on the side of the road. Deputies arrested Darren Ned Humbert, 58, of 435 Miller St., Milton-Freewater for reckless driving, violating a no-con- tact order and second-degree assault. The Morrow County District Attorney’s Office on Monday charged Humbert with reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person, as well as with domestic violence crimes of first-degree kidnapping, third-degree assault and second-degree assault. He remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton. Saturday •Pendleton police arrested Patricia Maria Urrutia, 33, of 17 East First St., Ontario, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and giving false liability insurance information to police. •Umatilla tribal police arrested Ryan Tyler Patrick, 32, of Pendleton, for criminal activity in drugs, dangerous drugs and on probation violations. •Pendleton police arrested Logan Charles Wilson, 19, of 1500 S.E. Byers Ave., Apt. 9, Pendleton, for possession of methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, interfering with a peace officer, second-de- gree disorderly conduct, third-degree theft and for failing to pay fines. •The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office at about 11:30 p.m. responded to a single-vehicle crash about a mile north of Westland Road near the intersection with Walker Road. Deputies arrested Chad Russell Nickerson, 33, of 28716 Bridge Road, Hermiston, for driving under the influence of intoxicants and property hit and run. Nickerson has another DUII case pending in Umatilla County Circuit Court from an arrest in March. Sunday •Pendleton police cited Jamie L. Coombs, 31, of Hermiston, for DUII (alcohol). •A driver escaped injury in a crash but ended up in cuffs for driving under the influence and more. Oregon State Police at about 1 a.m. responded to the crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 161. According to the agency, a Toyota Corolla was eastbound when its right front tire came apart. The car struck a fog marker on the right shoulder, spun clockwise across the eastbound lane and into the median, then rolled several times before stopping on the north shoulder on the interstate’s westbound side. Trooper Mark Amos found the driver, Justin Earl Frison, 25, no address provided, showed signs of alcohol impairment and arrested him for DUII, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief. State police also noted the car was the subject of an intoxicated driver report that came in about an hour before the crash. •A traffic stop of a possible intoxicated driver led to a hospital visit before a stay in jail. Oregon State Police at about 3 p.m. overheard a radio complaint about the driver and stopped the silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Highway 395 near East Elm Avenue, Hermiston. State police reported Nolberto Velazquez Rosas, 34, of Prosser, Washington, showed signs of impairment and had a suspended license. However, an ambulance took the driver to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, for a diabetic emergency. After his treatment there, police took Velazquez Rosas to the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for DUII, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person (a 7-year-old passenger) and the driving while suspended. •A driver going 107 mph on Interstate 84 through Pendleton caught the attention of the Oregon State Police. Trooper Amy Ford stopped the vehicle and arrested Louis Gavin Devore, 28, of Pendleton, for DUII (alcohol), driving while suspended, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person (the passenger, a 26-year-old man from Echo). The trooper also cited Davidson for refusing to take a breath test for intoxication level and speeding. •Oregon State Police arrested Joseph Smitty Hull, 50, of Pendleton, for DUII. •Pendleton police cited Robert R. Rooper, 58, of Pendleton, for DUII (controlled substance), •Milton-Freewater police arrested Jordan M. Thompson, 30, of 626 S. Columbia Ave., for two counts each of trespassing, menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and interfering with making a report. Irma Pauline Nevil, 81, of Hermiston passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017. Irma was born March 24, 1936, in Eston, Saskatch- ewan, Canada, the daughter of Scott and Delilah (Thompson) Baker. She lived on her family’s home- stead near Eston until the age of 12 when her family moved to Wood- burn, Oregon. She attended school in Woodburn where she graduated from high school. Irma married Daniel Nevil on November 21, 1964. The couple Nevil lived and farmed in the Willamette Valley until moving to Stan- field in 1971. They operated a pig farm in Stanfield for several years. Irma later worked as an office manager for several Eastern Oregon auto dealerships until retiring. Irma had a strong faith in God and was a member of Stanfield Baptist Church for 40 years. She opened her heart and her home to count- less people who needed help. She had a unending love and commitment to her family. After retiring, she traveled extensively and enjoyed her many trips to Alaska with her good friend Dorothy. She also volunteered with many organizations including Stanfield Planning Commission, Stanfield Library Board and Good Shepherd Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel; brothers Dale and Gordon; and an infant baby brother. She is survived by her children Scott and wife Alicia Nevil of Hermiston, David and wife Heather Nevil of Stanfield, Dani and husband Roger Smith of Hermiston, Tom and wife Heather Baumgartner and Carolann Jenson; brother Raymond Baker and his wife Lorraine of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters-in-law Pam Baker of Wood- burn and Phyllis Meyers of Canby; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston. Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10 at Stanfield Baptist Church, 310 N.E. Wheeler Avenue, Stanfield, Ore. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery near Stanfield.
