When Kelli Bullington’s
phone rang on a day in
January this year, she was
not expecting to hear Dean
Foquette’s voice on the other
line.
Foquette had reached out
to welcome the 1994 Pend-
leton High School graduate
and Buckaroo basketball
star to the Linebacker’s Club
Hall of Fame, as the club
expanded its scope to include
more than just former foot-
ball greats into the exclusive
club.
“I was just fl abbergasted,”
said Bullington, recalling the
conversation. “It’s a huge
honor and I wasn’t aware that
they were opening it up to
females and other sports this
year. I bleed green-and-gold
and am excited to be here.”
She joined 15 other
members to make up the
Linebacker’s Club Hall of
Fame’s Class of 2017 — the
largest one in the Hall of
Fame’s 14 years — that
was formally inducted on
Friday night in a ceremony
at the Pendleton Convention
Center. The class included
Linebacker’s Club donors
and basketball, baseball,
football, and track stars
including Bullington, Cyd
Cimmiyotti, David Boor, Ty
Haguewood, John Eggers,
Terre Rasmussen, Clarence
Cowapoo, Brian Nooy,

“It’s an amazing feeling
and I’m glad they’re
opening the door. There
are a lot of great female
(Pendleton) athletes
so I feel honored to
be one of the fi rsts.”

McIlroy misses cut at Irish Open
PORTSTEWART, Northern Ireland (AP)
— Rory McIlroy missed the cut at the Irish
Open for the fourth time in fi ve years, leading
the four-time major winner to express concerns
on Friday about parts of his game ahead of the
British Open.
McIlroy shot 1-over 73 in his
second round over the links at
Portstewart and was 1 over for the
tournament, which he is hosting
to benefi t his foundation. He was
four strokes below the cut mark
and 14 strokes off the joint leaders,
McIlroy
Benjamin Hebert and Daniel Im.
McIlroy also missed the cut at the U.S. Open
last month and hasn’t had a victory so far in
2017, during which he has had two spells out
because of a rib injury.
The only time he made the cut at the Irish
Open since 2012 was last year, when he won.
“I’m not really worried
about it but as of today,
I do not have a job for
next year. Hope to still
be racing. I think I got
some wins left in me
and hopefully race for
championships. Right
now, I’m focusing on
fi nishing up this year.”
— Matt Kenseth
NASCAR driver during an
announcement on Friday that he
has no job lined up next year
and likely has no future at
Joe Gibbs Racing.
DraftKings to offer WNBA
as a daily fantasy game
NEW YORK (AP) — WNBA daily
fantasy players will have more options after
DraftKings added the league to its
offerings on Friday.
“It’s been on our roadmap since
we launched the company,” said
Matt Kalish, DraftKings Co-Founder
and Chief Revenue Offi cer. “Glad
we fi nally (added it), think it will do
really well.”
DraftKings has had a sponsorship deal with
Madison Square Garden for the past few years.
It’s been the marquee name on the New York
Liberty’s jersey since 2015. Kalish said it was
too early to say if the site would offer any sort
of promotions with the Liberty or MSG.
Daily fantasy games pit people against each
other by picking a lineup of WNBA players.
DraftKings contests will have participants
choosing six WNBA players.
