All nearby police were busy with the earlier wreck and shots fired call. 8:41 a.m. - The Pendleton Fire Department responded to the crash of a single-engine private plane at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport, Pendleton. The pilot was uninjured, according to Fire Chief Mike Ciraulo, and the department’s airport fire engine doused the small craft in case it leaked any fuel. 3:28 p.m. - A Pendleton caller reported the theft of vehicle and house keys from a locker at the Roundup Athletic Club, 1415 Southgate. 7:48 p.m. - Pendleton police took a report of a stolen black motorcycle on Southeast Third Street. 8:26 p.m. - Fire engulfed a pickup on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 about a mile east of Pendleton. The driver, Maria Ortiz, 53, of Hermiston, was unharmed, according to Oregon State Police, and the Pendleton Fire Department extinguished the blaze. 9:02 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to a crash involving a black Ford Mustang McNary Viewpoint on Willamette and Riverside avenues. A caller said the saw was driving erratically before the crash, and the three or four people involved were not injured. 10:43 p.m. - A female on Southeast Ninth Street, Hermiston, reported her boyfriend assaulted her. Police arrived and found a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing and a jacket burning in the yard. Police extinguished the fire. 5:51 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to Southwest Olson Avenue for a domestic disturbance. 7:44 a.m. - A caller reported someone went through the fence and hit the Willow Creek sign at Highway 207 and Willow Creek Road, Heppner. Beer bottles, glass and rope were at the crash site, but no people or vehicles. 12:27 p.m. - Thousands of honey bees were in the trees at Riverfront Park on Southwest 23th Street, Hermiston. 1:56 p.m. -A man reported the theft of tools and a gun from his vehicle on the 100 block of South Main Street, Milton-Freewater. 5:17 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 report of a vehicle theft at the popular swimming hole, the cliffs, on the Umatilla River near Rieth. George Fox honors local grads, honor students CBS SATURDAY 12:20 p.m. - A local hospital reported a 10-year-old Irrigon girl was at the emergency department to receive treatment for a dog bite. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation. 12:44 p.m. - Cottonwood Bend and Westland road, Hermiston, a caller reported, is the site of illegal dumping. 1:27 p.m. - Oregon State Police warned a local couple to leave wildlife in the wild. State police responded to a call from residents who said they brought home a fawn because its mother was dead next to Highway 395 (state police did not specify where). A trooper took the fawn from their bedroom and returned it to a safe spot on private property near where the couple took it. The property owner told police another doe with two fawns was hanging out there. The trooper also told the couple if they had left the fawn, the other doe could have “adopted” it. The trooper then warned them for illegal possession of a game mammal. 9:15 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report about a car hitting mailboxes at Northeast Johns Lane and North Main Street. The impact took out the vehicle’s radiator. 11:07 p.m. - A caller on Northwest 11th Street, Hermiston, reported a male pulled a gun on him. Skerritt is best known for his roles in “Alien,” “Top Gun,” and “Picket Fences.” He and Evan Bailey, retired Army captain, co-founded The Red Badge Project to helps veterans tell their unique truths through storytelling.
