The chair hit the windshield of another vehicle. The victim called police and continued following the pickup. 11:28 a.m. - A man reported the theft of 10 checks from a site in Baxter Road, Hermiston. 2:20 p.m. - A woman reported the theft of her wedding ring on the 500 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue, Milton-Freewater. 7:59 p.m. - A Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy warned three teen males about climbing the restricted fence near Southwest Douglas Drive. SATURDAY 9:14 a.m. - Vandals egged a house on the 600 block of South Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater. 9:43 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce received a report of a man threatening to harm his former son-in-law. 1:05 p.m. - A woman reported the theft of her tan Toyota Corolla from the 900 block of Cowl Street, Milton-Freewater. 4:48 p.m. - Pendleton residents at Northwest Ellis Avenue and Eighth Street reported neighbors kicked and vandalized their car. 7:29 p.m. - A Umatilla resident on Sixth Street told police someone dumped trash on her property. Again. SUNDAY 1:31 a.m. - A prowler came to the window of a home on Issel Lane, Hermiston, the occupant reported. 1:34 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a fi ght at Crabby’s Underground Saloon, 220 S.W. First St. 2:29 a.m. - Someone, according to a caller, vandalized 10-12 vehicles at Pendleton High School. 6:25 p.m. - A caller at Tri-Harbor Apartments, 210 Klickitat St., Umatilla, told police their stepfather was out of control. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Fingerprints revealed the truth of a Milton-Freewater man. Oregon State Police reported a trooper on Friday around 1 p.m. contacted a man at Keystone RV Co., Pendleton, on suspicion he possessed fake identifi cation stemming from a 2017 arrest for driving under the infl uence of intoxicants. The trooper spoke to the suspect, who provided a Washington driver’s license and an Oregon identifi cation card. According to state police, the man claimed the information he gave for the ID card was fake, and he bought that information in Idaho for approximately $500. The trooper arrested the man and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for possession of a fi ctitious identifi cation and misuse of an identifi cation card. Jail staff took the man’s fi ngerprints and matched information on the Washington license to determine he was Miguel Colin Morales, 55. Umatilla County Circuit Court records show he pleaded not guilty May 16 to the DUII charge. His next hearing in that case is June 27. •Pendleton police arrested Jacob Allen Gornick, 24, of 3473 Mytinger Lane, Pendleton, for violating parole, resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine. Saturday •Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce arrested Ivan Salas Salas, 27, for driving under the infl uence of intoxicants. •Umatilla tribal police arrested Delbert Edwin Ferraris, 30, of 813 Elderberry Loop, Pendleton, for DUII (controlled substance), attempt to elude, reckless driving, and attempt to elude. •Hermiston police arrested William David Gates, 39, no address provided, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I substance (felony), and possession of a Schedule IV substance (misdemeanor). •Milton-Freewater police arrested Thomas Dee Payant, 23, no fi xed address, for possession of methamphetamine and on a warrant. •Pendleton police arrested Rick Henry Cearns, 27, of 517 S.W. 13th St., Pendleton, for resisting arrest, second- and third-degree mischief (vandalism), second-degree trespass, second-degree disorderly conduct, violating probation and on two warrants for failure to appear. •Morrow County Sheriff’s Offi ce arrested Raymundo De Jesus Chico, no age or address provided, for DUII. Sunday •Pendleton police arrested Cesar Ernesto Argueta, 43, of Pendleton, for domestic violence charges of strangulation and fourth-degree assault. •Hermiston police arrested Dylan Michael Ostrom, 20, 1630 W. The reading program theme is Build a Better World and will include weekly events and special guest presentations throughout the summer. Registration for program will follow the presentation. Sheriff Rowan to discuss immigration issues at Republican Womens meeting PENDLETON — Umatilla County Sheriff Terry Rowan is the special guest speaker for this month’s Round Up Republican Women’s meeting. Rowan will talk about immigration issues in Umatilla County. He will discuss his responsibilities to report, control and execute laws in Umatilla County under today’s environment. Harvest of Art seeks entries MILTON-FREEWATER — Artists from any medium are invited to participate in the 17th annual Harvest of Art. The art show, which runs in conjunction with the Milton-Freewater Rocks! festival, is Aug 18-20. The show is open to artists from across the region, including Pendleton, Dayton and the Walla Walla valley. The entry fee is $7 per piece. Cash prizes, ranging from $25 to $75, will be awarded in four categories: two-dimensional (drawings, watercolors, prints, mixed media); 3-D (sculpture, jewelry, fi ber arts); photography; and student art (under age 18). Each entry must be framed and mounted ready for display and completed within the past year. The deadline is Saturday, Aug. 12.
