Orchard Ave., In recognition of Earth Day, several activities are planned in Pendleton. A March for Science kicks off the event Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roy Raley Park, 1205 S.W. Court Ave. Organized by a grassroots group of local people, the event highlights the importance of partnerships formed between scientists and the broader community. Event organizers indicate it’s important for scientists to share their findings and engage the communities they serve. From noon to 4 p.m., there’s a Community Science Fair at the park. It will include family-friendly activities, information booths, live music, food vendors and a brew garden. Demonstrations and displays will include drone technology, FFA student projects, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, KBLU radio, Interpath Laboratory, the Umatilla County weed department’s invasive weed information trailer and more. CBS BOARDMAN — Local pet owners can have their cats and dogs vaccinated for rabies at a clinic Saturday, May 13 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Boardman City Park. Rabies is a fatal disease East Oregonian NBC Boardman to host rabies clinic for pet owners Earth Day includes science fair, tree giveaway of the brain and spinal cord in mammals. Dr. James Burgess, of Country Animal Hospital, will provide vaccinations for $20 per pet. Along with the vaccinations, the city also will offer free dog licensing at the clinic. ABC LA GRANDE — The Eastern Oregon University board of trustees will vote on proposed tuition, fees and room/board rates for the 2017-18 school year at its upcoming meeting. The meeting, which is open to the public, starts Thursday at 8 a.m. in Room 201 in the university’s Inlow Hall on the La Grande campus.
