With his top two singles players attending convention in Portland, Buckaroos coach Chris Holdman brought over some doubles players to fi ll in the gaps. The difference in experience and skill level was overwhelming, and the Eagles swept all six matches while dropping only a handful of sets in their Columbia River Conference opener. “I think it would have been a little bit closer if we would have had (seniors Lincoln Johnson and Peter Wallace),” Holdman said. “We had to move guys around they were matched up against players that were better than them. But I think that’s good for them because they’re gaining experience, and it’s good to play somebody who’s better than you because it makes you better. Matches like this are good for the kids whether they realize it or not.” Stepping into the No. 1 single T-wolves split doubleheader with Chukars BMCC softball snaps three game skid East Oregonian ONTARIO — After a disap- pointing result over the weekend, the Blue Mountain softball team bounced back to split a double- header with Treasure Valley on Wednesday. (AP) — Retired running back Marshawn Lynch visited the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday as he decides whether to come back to the NFL and the team decides whether it wants to acquire the hometown favorite. Seahawks general manager John Schneider told a Seattle radio station that he has discussed a deal to send Lynch to Oakland with Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie in case Lynch does Lynch come out of retirement. Lynch retired following the 2015 season. The Seahawks still hold his rights but would be unlikely to want to pay his $9 million for this year if he decides to comeback. The Raiders have a need for a power running back after losing Latavius Murray in free agency. Lynch was born and raised in Oakland and played college ball nearby at California. “I wouldn’t take any of it seriously. I was naiive enough to think my playing days would last forever ...
