RECORDS Wednesday, April 5, 2017 East Oregonian Leonard Bullock Albert George ‘Bud’ Isensee Peggy Naomi Hickey Pendleton December 20, 1939-April 1, 2017 Connell, Wash. August 4, 1924-March 23, 2017 Hermiston April 7, 1937-March 31, 2017 Leonard Bullock, 77, of Pendleton, Oregon, passed away on April 1, 2017. Leonard was born on December 20, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Viola (Blanton) and Jessie Bullock. He grew up moving around the country with his four brothers and one sister. They eventually settled in Pendleton in 1955. Leonard worked for Simplot as a forklift operator for many years in Hermiston and also spent a lot of his working years as a handyman. Bullock He was a Main Street Cowboy. He had a passion for animals, having four dogs at the time he passed. He also loved old cars, gardening and any yard work. Leonard was a long time member of the Bethel Assembly of God and spent many years as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the holiday season. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Floyd Bullock and Mac Bullock, and son Sandy Williams. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dorothy (Lambert) Bullock; brothers James Bullock and John Bullock; sister Lavern Crum; children Candy (Jeff) Hanson and James (Letha) Williams; multiple grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchil- dren. A public visi- tation will be held at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton on Friday, April 7th from 3-7 p.m. Funeral service is at Bethel Assembly of God on Saturday, April 8th at 2 p.m. Leonard Bullock will be laid to rest at Olney Cemetery. Dolores Louise Olsen Pendleton April 16, 1924-April 3, 2017 Dolores Louise Olsen passed away on April 3, 2017, in Pendleton. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 16, 1924, to John Traas and Lousie M. Fischer Traas. Dolores was raised in and around Milwaukee along with her three brothers. She grad- uated from North Division High School in 1942. As part of the war effort, she worked at Globe-Union testing airplane radar condensers. She met the love of her life, Lester F. Olsen, while Olsen he was on naval school training in the area. After a whirlwind courtship of 14 days, they were engaged. They were married at the end of the war, on October 13, 1945, in Pendleton at Peace Lutheran Church. She and Lester were married 56 years prior to his death on April 8, 2002. Dolores came west to the wilds of Eastern Oregon to live in Pendleton, the home- town of Lester. She worked for the city of Pendleton for a number of years, prior to the birth of their first child. She then became a homemaker, raising five children while living near Helix. After they became empty-nesters, she began work for ECOAC as a cook at the Senior Citizen Center, until retiring in 1989. Lester and her family were the center of her life. She was a 4-H leader and Blue Bird leader for many years. She loved to sew, bake and scrapbook. She especially enjoyed traveling, volksmarching, folk dancing and roller skating, along with playing pinochle and bunco, or any other game. She always attended the activities of her children and grandchildren. Dolores was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, being confirmed at the age of 13. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for 71 years, and had been active in many aspects of the church. Her church family was very important to her. Her parents, husband Lester, four brothers and a sister predeceased her. She is survived by her children and their spouses: John and Marilyn Olsen, Marlene Tidwell, Jim and Kim Olsen, Marcia and Michael Flemmer, and Douglas and Mary Olsen. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Kelly, Erik, Paul, Colby, Adam, Rebecca, Jacob, Jason, Sarah and Eliz- abeth, 16 great-grandchil- dren, sister-in- law Nancy Traas, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church. Sign the online condolence book on www.burnsmortuary.com Albert “Bud” George Isensee passed away peace- fully at his home in Connell, Washington, at 2:22 p.m. on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017, with his daughter Charity and granddaughter Danielle by his side. He was 92 years young. Bud was born on August 4, 1924, in Ventura, California, to Bernard and Mayme (Laird) Isensee. His family moved to the Herm- iston, Oregon, area in 1929. Bud enlisted in the United States Isensee Army Air Corps in 1943 and proudly served his country as a tail gunner in a B-52 bomber. After World War II, Bud worked several different jobs. He was a Los Angeles County highway motorcycle officer, a photographer, a Richland, Washington, police officer, worked on the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project, Hanford Nuclear Plant, Umatilla Ordnance Depot and he eventually retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Chief Joseph Dam as a control room operator. He married Cherie June Vincent in Winnemucca, Nevada, in 1950 and together they had five chil- dren. He lived the majority of his life in the Brewster and Bridgeport area, and most recently in Connell. Bud enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, watching Western movies, listening to audiobooks, observing the weather, going for drives and spending time with his animals and family. Bud’s humor and story- telling will be dearly missed by family members and friends, and all who crossed his path. Survivors include his children, Albert Joseph “Joe” (Hendrika) Isensee, Gregory Vincent “Greg” (Jody) Isensee, Charity Anne Isensee and Michael Noel “Mike” (Gen) Isensee; 14 grandchil- dren; and several loved great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Bud was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rosemarie, and his one true love Cherie June; two brothers, Bernard “Bernie” and Edwin “Eddie” Isensee; and two sisters, Alva “Boots” Hunt and IdaMae “Perk” Rodda. A celebration of life will be held on April 22nd at the Othello Senior Center in Othello, Washington, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bud’s name to the American Legion Columbia Post 97 in Brewster, Washington, or the Inland Northwest Honor Flight in Spokane, Wash- ington. She passed away on March 31, 2017, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 79. She attended schools in Texas, Illinois, and Kentucky as her stepfather worked in construc- tion and moved to from state to state with the building of new dams. She met and married James A. Hickey on September 3, 1954. She continued with her senior year of high school and Hickey graduated from Brazosport High School in May of 1955. Peggy worked as a prac- tical nurse in Laramie, Wyo., Mercy Hospital in Redding, Calif., Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle, Wash., and Good Shepherd Hospital here in Hermiston. She drove forklift at Lamb Weston in Hermiston and Boardman. Her favorite job, though, was out at Hinkle working for Stubby Transportation as a yard hostler. She loved the banter and giving the rail crews a bad time when picking them up or taking them to the trains. Peggy enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading and bowling. She was the secre- tary of the Kings and Queens bowling league on Monday nights. She bowled on the Thursday night Women’s Major League, the Tuesday Morning Coffee League and the Travel League. Jimmie Ray Cossey Pendleton June 19, 1951-March 21, 2017 Jim passed away at OHSU after a battle with lung cancer. Jim was born in Hanford, Calif., to Ethan and Peanut Cossey. He lived and worked in Oregon for most of his life. Jim lived a full life and was loved by many. He was the kind of person that was happy with anything and always had a smile on his face. He Cossey loved camping, boating and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Sheila Cossey; children Michelle (Zoltan) Werkner, Michael (Kathy) Cossey and Mandy (Brandon) Bosworth; seven grandchildren; three sisters and six brothers, and many nieces and nephews. His celebration of life for family will be held on April 10, and for friends and family on May 27. Jim was that guy that would always make you laugh and he loved everyone. He is going to be missed very much. Words can’t explain the joy he brought to everyone’s life. HERMISTON Man pleads not guilty to mail theft East Oregonian Ryan Jeffrey Tremblay of Hermiston faces 14 counts of mail theft. The 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges in mid February. A Umatilla County grand jury indicted Tremblay in January of the charges of mail theft or receipt of stolen mail, a class C felony in Oregon. According to the conditional release agreement he signed, he cannot have contact with any of the victims. His next court hearing is April 17 in Hermiston before Circuit Judge Eva Temple.
