He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a fireman in the Philippines during WWII until his honorable discharge. Frank was united in marriage to Betty R. Hodge on June 1, 1947. They moved their family from Virginia to Hermiston, Oregon, in August of 1961 where he has lived since. Frank worked for Stewart’s Market for many years working as a cashier, stocking the shelves, in Brown maintenance or anywhere he was needed. He later worked for IGA for several years. Frank enjoyed wood- working, hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, mounting antlers for friends and family, and going for drives in the mountains. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, passing the love of the outdoors onto them. Frank was always there to help his children and lend a hand to help anyone wherever he could. He was recognized earlier this year in an East Oregonian article, “who at the age of 89 was out with his tractor clearing everyone’s driveways.” Frank made many friends over the years with many of the farmers and ranchers on Big and Little Buttercreek. He would often stop by and share stories and a Mt. Dew with them. Frank was very thankful and considered himself very rich that the Lord blessed him with such a wonderful family. He is survived by his children: Tom and wife Kristy, Larry and wife Sharon, Danny and wife Cathy, Darlene and husband Matt, Susan and husband Jim, and Carolyn; sister Marylou Davis; brothers Maynard, Dale and Duane Brown; grand- children Darci, Jeromie, Dwayne, Jessica, Maranda, Katie, Nikkie and Justin; numerous great-grandchil- dren, nieces and nephews. Joan Patricia ‘Pat’ (Remillard) Yenney Walla Walla June 11, 1930-March 17, 2017 Joan Patricia Yenney passed away on March 17, 2017, at Providence Hospital. She was 86 years old, but ever youthful and exuberant. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 24th at Blue Moun- tain Community Church at 3:00 with a private family graveside service Saturday, March 25. A rosary service will be held at the Herring-Grose- close Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 6:00. At her family’s request, those who can attend the memorial service are asked to wear Yenney bright colors, bring a story, a picture, a poem, a joke or a song, and be prepared for a grand celebration as we honor this remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, memo- rial contributions for Seattle Children’s Hospital or Hospice can be given in her name to the Herring-Grose- close Funeral Home, 315 Alder Street in Walla Walla. Patricia was born June 11, 1930, in Walla Walla to Georgia Meiners Remillard and Alfred Remillard. She and her parents lived in numerous communities throughout the Walla Walla Valley as her dad worked for various wheat ranches. Her grandparents, Philip and Eleona Bergevin Remi- llard, farmed and were part of the Frenchtown commu- nity. The Meiners family were early homesteaders who farmed in the Dixie foothills. She was raised to love horses, and was a talented horsewoman. Her first paying job was ponying race horses at the fairgrounds. She attended area schools from Adams to Walla Walla. She met Alan Taylor Yenney at Wa-Hi over a conversation about a good horse she had ridden. They married at the Yenney family home on April 23, 1951, on Russell Creek and lived a life surrounded by dogs, horses, cattle and goats as Alan worked with the Frazier family. A gifted musician, Pat played piano by ear, and could play any song you could hum. Her favorite times involved story telling, playing cards, singing songs and family and friends around the table. Patricia had a unique education, a very busy mind, and a thirst for learning all of her days. She loved to have deep conversations about the twists and turns of life. From her colorful, kaleidoscope quilts to her notebooks filled with stories, she brought joy in what she did. She was a prolific writer, encouraging that gift in her offspring. She absolutely enjoyed people, was a shameless flirt, and no one was a stranger. She infused her love of life and joy of living into all she did. Her wonderful sense of humor, silliness and posi- tive outlook sustained all who knew her. She was one of a kind in every way. She was the center of her family, and we who loved her will miss her spirit, but we know that she would want each of us to continue to carry her torch which burned so brightly. As she embarks on her new adven- ture, she leaves behind friends too numerous to count, and a large family, as well. Her legacy includes daughters Susan Scott (Claude), Ann Caulk and Sara Erwin (Steven), all of Walla Walla; brothers Pierre Remillard (Sue) of Walla Walla and Jack Remillard (Sharon) of Pendleton; sisters-in-law Ellen Brewer of Pullman, Merilyn Ohlson (Gene) of Greenbank, and Claudine Remillard and Debbie Remillard of Walla Walla. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kate Engler, Maggie Youd, Jim Caulk, Emily Caulk, Sam Erwin, Joe Erwin, Allison Flabetich and Holly Reynolds. She had grandmotherly ties with her nieces and nephews Mike Remillard, Joelle Bray, Tanner Remillard, Jenni Remillard, Mia Murray and Aaron Greene-Morse. She delighted in her eight great-grandchildren: Ian and Jonah Engler, Will and Aubrey Youd, Jude and Lincoln Erwin, Isley Erwin, and Evelyn Flabetich. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Remillard, ex-hus- band Alan Yenney, son Bobby, infant son Davey and infant great-grand- daughter Laura Erwin. 3/22 Cineplex Show Times $5 Classic Movie 12:00 SPLENDOR IN GLASS Beauty and the Beast (PG) 2D 4:00 9:40 6:10 9:00 3D 6:50 Logan (R) 4:10 7:00 10:00 Kong: Skull Island (PG13) 2D 4:20 7:10 3D 9:50 The Shack (PG13) 3:50* 6:40 9:30 Credit & Debit Cards accepted Cineplex gift cards available * Matinee Pricing wildhorseresort.com 541-966-1850 Pendleton, OR I-84 - Exit 216
