Hood River 10-2 Hermiston 6-6 Pendleton 4-8 Projected Finish he Hood River Valley Eagles have been kings of the CRC for each of the past two seasons, but with a lot of roster turnover in 2017 the CRC appears to be up for grabs. Pendleton returns the most all-league players (4) led by shortstop and pitcher Wyatt Morris and outfielder/speedster Shaw Jerome, while Hermiston will have some gaps to fill, but a successful offseason slate has coach Lance Hawkins feeling good about his squad. OTHER SENIORS: Jared Beve- ridge, INF/P SEASON GOALS: Pendleton has two major goals for the 2017 season, to win the league title and go deep into the playoffs and to ultimately win a state championship, and it hopes to get there by competing and playing the game the right way. HAGUEWOOD’S KEY TO THE SEASON: “Pretty cliche, but if we throw strikes and play solid defense good things will happen. Early in the year we have not been consistent in, but we expect more and we will do a better job.” BIGGEST STRENGTHS: Pendleton has several newcomers to fill some gaps this season, but the athletes’ hard-working attitude will make up for the inexperience. The Buckaroos players are also good at playing the game right, with hustle, teamwork and effort and always competing against their best self, not the opponent. For every member of the program to have a great attitude and effort in practice and games.” BIGGEST STRENGTHS: A strong commitment to their teammates, ability to respond to diversity and a love of the game are the strengths Michaud sees being displayed often with this group. 1B/P Cole Campbell, jr. The Bulldogs have several holes to fill from last season’s squad, most notably in the pitching staff, where the likes of R.J.
