RECORDS Thursday, March 9, 2017 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES TUESDAY 6:52 a.m. - A Hermiston man asked to speak to an officer about his adult stepson causing issues. 7:38 a.m. - A resident on Prunedale Road, Milton-Freewater, reported someone is stealing rock out of the yard, and it has been happening for a long time. The caller added that during the night someone damaged her trailer. 10:32 a.m. - A caller at Frontage Lane and County Line Road, Hermiston, reported a woman drove a tan older sedan into a guardrail, opened her car door, fell out, got back in and headed west on Frontage and was “all over the road.” Law enforcement did not find her. 11:26 a.m. - Pendleton police received a request from a mandatory reporter to check on the welfare of a teen boy who may have had a physical confrontation with an adult guardian. 12:15 a.m. - A mother on South Edwards Road, Hermiston, reported her daughter and boyfriend were fighting in the driveway. 12:15 p.m. - A Heppner resident at Northwest Gale and Center streets reported a brown hound dog howls in the alley behind her house from about midnight to 1 a.m., but she nor her neighbors have been able to catch the dog. She said she would like someone to pick up the hound, if possible. 4:54 p.m. - A Boardman ambulance responded to Marshall Loop for a 12-year-old girl with a broken knee. 6:43 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report of a cat stuck in a tree for three days on West Orchard Avenue. 7:33 p.m. - A caller on Southeast Sixth Street, Hermiston, reported seeing a large flash to the west. 11:56 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to a female who said she was assaulted. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Hermiston police arrested Nicholas Geraldo Guerra, 25, of Hermiston, for violating parole, failure to pay fines and posses- sion of heroin. •Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Marie Gray, 29, of 80673 S. Edwards Road, Hermiston, for fourth-de- gree assault. •Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Florencio Garcia Quezada, 26, of 31119 Baggett Lane, Hermiston, for violating post-prison supervision and possession of methamphetamine. (541-667-6000) Carol LaRee Treadwell Hermiston May 10, 1961-March 5, 2017 Shayne Edward Burres Irrigon February 18, 1970-March 4, 2017 Shayne Edward Burres was born February 18, 1970, in Prineville, Ore. He passed away at the family home in Irrigon on March 4, 2017, surrounded by his family. Shayne grew up in Eastern Oregon and graduated from Umatilla High School. He worked as a marine deputy for Umatilla County for two years. Shayne became a master automotive diagnos- tician and spent most of his working years at the local Chevrolet dealership. Bow hunting was Shayne’s passion. He was a highly skilled hunter and enjoyed sharing his hunting seasons in the mountains out of Heppner with family and friends. He especially enjoyed sharing his skill and love of hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting with his nieces and nephews. Shayne was very generous with his time and knowledge of the outdoors and automotives St. George, Utah October 9, 1959-February 8, 2017 Kevin John Lemmon was born October 9, 1959, in Baker, Oregon, to Richard and Mona Jean Mitchell Lemmon. He passed away February 8, 2017, in St. George, Utah. Kevin was the sixth child of a family of eight children – four boys and four girls. At an early age epilepsy became a major challenge and continued with him for the remainder of his life. Because of the epilepsy and other factors he was mentally and physically challenged and classed as a disabled person. He was able to live at home with his family until the early 1970s, at which time he started living in various facilities that offered care for developmentally disabled persons. Two of the programs that Kevin was in while living in Pendleton were the Nova and Horizon projects. He spent several years in the Bungalow Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kevin spent his last few months at Chrysalis Care Center in St. George, Utah. The family appreciates the care given Kevin by these facilities. Kevin enjoyed life the best he could. His favorite things were being with family, riding bicycles, playing basketball, dancing, hiking, tossing firewood into a truck, and riding a motorcycle (minus the engine, etc.) by propelling it with his legs. He enjoyed cowboy boots, ties, Wednesday, March 8 Pick 4 1 p.m.: 6-7-8-0 sunglasses, hats, and milk- shakes. Kevin had a keen memory for remembering people he had met and had not seen for a period of time. He enjoyed socializing with other people. He enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and proudly wore all of his medals. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Jean Lemmon, father Richard Lemmon, brother Jeff Lemmon, and broth- ers-in-law Mike Jackson and Steve Frazier. Kevin leaves behind his stepmother Dona Lemmon; brothers Andrew Lemmon (Cathy) and Scott Lemmon (Kathy); sisters Rhonda Gardner (Gil), Elaine Fresh (Stephen), Diana Lemmon and Jolene Simpson (John); and 47 nephews and nieces. A memorial service was held at Metcalf Mortuary in St. George on February 18. A graveside service will be held for Kevin at Mt. Hope Ceme- tery in Baker City, Oregon, at a later date. She passed away on March 5, 2017, in Richland, Wash- ington, at the age of 55 years. Carol was raised and attended schools in Kenne- wick, Washington, until midway through her junior year when her family moved to Hermiston, Oregon. She graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1979. Carol then attended Ricks College and earned an associate’s degree in accounting, and later a bachelor’s degree in educa- tion at Washington State University. She worked with mentally and physically disabled adults in Portland, Oregon, for 10 years before returning to college. Carol earned her RN certificate of nursing at Columbia Basin Community College and loved caring for her patients, especially chil- dren.
