Campbell Enterprise Condon Feb. 9, 1927-March 4, 2017 1:29 a.m. - A caller on Southwest Isaac Avenue, Pendleton, told police someone stole the car keys out of her car. 1:51 a.m. - An employee of Shearer’s Foods, 78035 Highway 207, Hermiston, called 9-1-1 after a man threatened her. 10:28 a.m. - A Hermiston man told police his wife tried to be a secret shopper but instead was scammed out of $2,800. 1:20 p.m. - Hermiston police took a report of boys on East Gladys Avenue following people who walk through the neighborhood. 1:31 p.m. - Another Hermiston resident reported falling victim to computer scammers. He said he received warning his Apple products were corrupted and paid $1,000 before realizing it was all a fraud. 2:29 p.m. - A caller in Ione at Ella Road and Highway 74 reported a dog was bleeding from the eyes and may have fallen from a pickup. 9:03 p.m. - An Irrigon woman reported she and a male broke up, and then his friend began harassing her on Facebook and in person. 9:44 p.m. - A prowler in a Budweiser coat peeked into windows at Spruce Village Apartments, 625 N.W. Spruce St., Hermiston. Police did not find the suspect. SATURDAY 3:09 a.m. - Some prowler tried to get into a house on West Quince Avenue, Hermiston. 11:57 a.m. - Oregon State Police reported a local business owner bought several guns in December from an estate sale and completed all the paperwork on the purchases. But when he tried to transfer the ownership of a gun, the state’s Firearm Instant Check System identified the gun as stolen. 12:08 p.m. - Management at Rodeway Inn & Suites, 635 S Highway 395, Hermiston, kicked out a guest who broke windows in his room. 11:16 p.m. - A caller on West Alleluia Avenue, Hermiston, reported dogs had been barking since 7 p.m., and this was not the first time. SUNDAY 4:26 a.m. - A Hermiston man on East Main Street reported his wife pulled a gun on him. 9 a.m. - A caller reported “there is feces everywhere” in the restroom at the Heppner City Park, 444 N. Main St. 1:24 p.m. - A caller reported a female threw garbage from the overpass at Powerline Road and Interstate 82, Hermiston. 2:45 p.m. - A man reported his sister on Southeast Isaac Avenue, Pendleton, has a dead coyote in her back yard. 3:05 p.m. - Pendleton police reported a crisis team responded to the Horizon Project, Inc. on Southwest 40th Street after a client with broken glass threatened staff. 3:41 p.m. - Ten juveniles approximately 5-13 climbed the gate to go in and out of the restroom at Pioneer Park, 400 N.W. Despain Ave., Pendleton. 4:10 p.m. - Stanfield police received a report of a vicious dog near Moose Lodge No. 920, 615 W. Coe Ave., Stanfield. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Pendleton police arrested Jordan Matthew McMann, 26, of Pendleton, for first-degree burglary, menacing, and first-degree trespass at a vacant property on the 300 block of Southeast Third Street, Pendleton. •Hermiston police arrested Jaime Castillo Guerrero, 35, of 374 N.W. Crestview Court, Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on a warrant for failure to appear. •Boardman police arrested Shannon Dale Taylor, 46, of 1531 Seventh St., Umatilla, for first-degree burglary and violating probation. •Hermiston police arrested Joshua Phillip Miltenberger, 24, of Umatilla, for second-degree theft, first-degree trespass, three counts of second-degree trespass, and possession of heroin. •Oregon State police arrested Miguel Colin Moraeles, 54, no address provided, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. His blood-alcohol level was .17 percent. •Oregon State police arrested Sandra Noreen Kounovsky, 48, of Waitsburg, Washington, for DUII (controlled substance). Saturday •Oregon State police cited Bridget Macias, 22, of Umatilla, for DUII (alcohol) after she crashed a Honda Accord around 5 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 395 North near Hermiston. An ambulance took her to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, where she provided a blood sample and the trooper gave her the citation. •Umatilla police arrested Adrien Eugene Mealey, 41, of 214 S.E. Elliott Ave., Gresham, for coercion, felony strangulation constituting domestic violence, second-degree disorderly conduct, resiting arrest and on a warrant. Sunday •Stanfield police arrested Gary Dow Williams, 61, of Plymouth, Washington, for DUII (alcohol), driving while suspended/revoked, and offensive littering. •Umatilla police arrested Samuel Kurt Bergstrom, 56, of Pocatello, Idaho, for DUII (alcohol). (Karra Van Fossen 541-449-3272) October 5, 1947-March 1, 2017 Linda Lee (Boschee) Knifong, 69, died March 1, 2017, at her home in Enter- prise. Linda was born October 5, 1947, in Walla Walla, Wash., to the late William and Shirley Boschee. She and her sister Jenice (Boschee) Gibson attended grade schools in Pilot Rock, Ore., and graduated from McLoughlin Union High School in Milton-Freewater. She earned a certifi- cate in bookkeeping from Kinman Business Institute in Spokane, Wash. Knifong In 1966, she married Ernie Knifong in Milton-Freewater, Ore. They had two sons, Michael (deceased) and Kenneth. They then moved to Enter- prise, Ore. Linda was the bookkeeper for the family business of Ern’s Electric until the time of their divorce. She then ran her own janito- rial business, Star Janitorial. Linda was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Enterprise, the Hurricane Creek Grange, and the Wallowa Mountain Quilter’s Guild. She had a passion for quilting, enjoyed attending her grandson’s athletic events, loved black- berry picking, camping on the Snake River, cooking with her grange friends, watching westerns with her son Mike, and playing computer games. Survivors include son Ken (Colby); daugh- ter-in-law Michelle; sister Jenice Gibson; four grandchildren, Kennisen, Kellan, Emily and Erika; and numerous aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her son Mike. The Hurricane Creek Grange (82930 Airport Lane, Joseph, OR 97846) will be hosting a memorial ceremony at their monthly meeting on March 15, 2017. It is a potluck at 6:00 p.m. and memorial at 7:00 p.m. All who knew Linda are invited. A second service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Enter- prise at a later date that will be posted in the Chieftain. Myrtle Prather Davis Weston September 25, 1929-February 28, 2017 Myrtle Prather Davis, Weston, Oregon, passed away February 28, 2017, at her home at the age of 87 years. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home. Concluding services and interment will be in the Weston Cemetery, Weston, Ore. She attended local schools, where she would meet and begin a lifelong relationship with John Rayford Davis. The two were married on November 17, 1945, in Lafayette, Alabama. They shared 61 years together, beginning in Dadeville, Alabama, where six of their children would be born. In 1958 they moved their family to Weston, Ore. Scribner, 91, of Milton-Freewater died Thursday, March 2, 2017, at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1925. Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater is in charge of arrangements. Dorotha E. ‘Dottie’ Stephenson continued to raise their family, which increased to eight, with the arrival of two more chil- dren. Myrtle became a stay- at-home mother and managed the family household of 10. It was a challenging job that required the use of many skills over the years, such as a chef, maid, nurse, teacher, accountant and referee. She took great pride in the home and her children. Myrtle enjoyed watching her “stories” in the afternoons, visiting with family and friends and growing flowers in her yard. Her biggest enjoyment in life was her “grandbabies” or her “youngens” as she liked to call them. She had left behind 20 grandbabies, 26 great-grandbabies and six great-great-grandbabies, who will miss there “Momo” beyond words. Myrtle is also survived by her sister Margaret Holmes of Gadsden, Ala., and children Johnny Davis and JoAnn Williams of Alexander City, Ala., Jerry Davis of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Jimmie Davis, Leonard Davis, Betty Prow, Sandra Stewart and Davie Davis, all of Weston, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Davis, her sister Loyett Moncus and a grandson, John “Bubba” Shurum. Norman Rudy Krosting Norman Rudy Krosting, age 72, died at his home February 27, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in Pendleton, Oregon, September 25, 1944, to Rudy and Louisa (Fahren- wald) Krosting. He married Kathleen Morrow June 26, 1971, and they raised two sons. He is survived by his mother and his wife; his son Corey R. Krosting; his son and daughter-in-law Krosting Brett and Juliann Krosting; his brother Robert (Rudy) and Cindy Krosting; sister Karen and Alan Thacker; sister Kathy and John Creason; and two grand- children, Madelyn Krosting Page 7A and Henry Krosting.
