Page 6A RECORDS East Oregonian OBITUARIES COMING EVENTS Robert ‘Bob’ Hudson Priscilla ‘Deanne’ Lightle Parkrose July 12, 1926-December 17, 2016 Hermiston October 13, 1924-January 18, 2017 Robert attended country grade school in Coombs Canyon and was a 1944 Pendleton High School graduate. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines (1944-1946) and Army CIC (1946- 1947). He married Roberta Hoeft in 1948 in Pendleton at Peace Lutheran Church, and daughter Kathryn Elizabeth was born 1950. Robert graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 1951, and worked as a salesman for Jacobs Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of the Parkrose Lions, Oregon Chapter of American Merchant Marines, and Our Savior Lutheran Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, sports, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lowell Hudson and Mary Hartnett Hudson (Pend- leton); brothers Ronald and Charles; son-in-law John Griffith; and nephews Jim Hudson and Scott Hudson. Robert is survived by his wife Roberta; daughter Kathryn Griffith; brother Maurice Hudson; three grandchildren and two great-grandchil- dren; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. A celebration of life will be held January 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Oregon City United Methodist Church. Alvin Leslie ‘Al’ Picard Mission February 11, 1953-January 18, 2017 Alvin Picard, a resident of Mission, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at his residence in Mission. He was born February 11, 1953, to Clarence Picard and Angela (McBean) Picard in Pendleton, Ore. He attended school in Athena, Ore. He served in the U.S. Navy in Texas from 1971- 1976. He was employed as a truck driver for Puget Sound and later retired from TERF Tribal Transfer. He Picard enjoyed hunting and fishing. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Angela (McBean) Picard; three sisters, Tillie Penny, Nita Bodie and Rosanna Shippentower; three brothers, Danny Picard, Ricard Picard and Gene Picard; and stepson Justin Tuttle. He is survived by his children Bryson Picard, Elaina Picard, Rikki Lynn Starliper, Mariah Werner and Caleb Tuttle; two siblings, Verna Picard and Diana Haye; and several grandchil- dren, nieces and nephews. (541-278-6252) Saturday, January 21, 2017 Priscilla “Deanne” Lightle of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on October 13, 1924, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Bert and Phoebe Harris Gilliland. She died on January 18, 2017, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 92 years. After graduating from high school in 1942, she worked in the office of Scott’s Department Store for 14 years. Deanne married Calvin “Curly” Lightle in 1943, while he was home on furlough. The family moved to Hermiston, Oregon, in 1953, where Lightle Deanne worked for Montgomery Ward for 10 years. She then worked as a caregiver for 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years and has attended the First Christian Church for several years. Deanne was a charter member of the Bloomer Girl’s Garden Club in 1962 and was active until her health failed a few years ago. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for many years. She loved reading, working in her flowers, and animals. Deanne and Curly loved music and dancing. What a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend. She was a loving and gentle lady who will be missed so much. Mom retired at the age of 85. She was determined and strong to the end. Goodbye, “Our Little Energizer Bunny.” She is survived by her daughter Kristy Brown and her husband Tom, Hermiston, Ore.; grandsons Travis Christian and wife Heather, Hermiston, Ore., Ryan Christian, Hermiston, Ore., and Daniel Lightle, Portland, Ore.; granddaughter Tori Lightle, Boise, Idaho; great-grand- sons Cutter and Tyson Christian, Hermiston, Ore., and Rhett and Rory Lightle, Boise, Idaho; nephew Frank Lupton and wife Yvonne, Minnesota; and extended family Don and Mary Ann Chris- tian, Hermiston, Ore. Deanne was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Curly Lightle; sons Rick and Terry Lightle; and two sisters and three brothers. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Hermiston, Oregon.
