Grand jury indicts Glidewell for attempted muder, 16 other counts Page 7A PUBLIC SAFETY LOG THURSDAY 4 a.m. - Fire departments from Morrow County Fire Station 7 and Boardman responded to a possible furnace fire in the wall of a home on Wagon Trail Road, Echo. 6:52 a.m. - A mother at Pendleton Square Apartments Phase II, Southwest 12th Drive, Pendleton, reported a woman stole her daughter’s black 2007 Ford Focus sometime after midnight. Pendleton police took a theft report. 9:28 a.m. - An employee of Traner’s Plumbing, 80611 N. Highway 395, Hermiston, reported to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office that someone during the night ran into the side of the building, damaging some of the siding. 12:59 p.m.- A semi driver at Pilot Travel Center, 2115 S. Highway 395, Stanfield, called police to report someone threw something at his windshield and broke it. 1:15 p.m. - A resident of Southwest 13th Street, Pendleton, reported a man on a four-wheel-drive ATV with a blade on the front “pushed all the snow out into the middle of the road.” He requested contact from an officer. 1:36 p.m.- Pendleton police received a call from a woman who had her wallet stolen while she was staying at the Pendleton Motel 6 on Dec. 10. She said she thought she had lost the wallet until the Baker City Police Department called her to report they had video of subjects using her ID at a motel there, and the thieves stole items from a room. She asked to talk to an officer. 1:38 p.m. - Two employees at Hagoth Industries, Weston, got into a physical altercation, one of the men reported to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office. The caller said his supervisor tried to push him to the ground and grabbed him by the jacket. A sheriff’s deputy took a report. 3:16 p.m. - A neighbor watching a house on Vansycle Road, Helix, reported a possible burglary. She requested a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy investigate the intruders. 3:36 p.m. - One person suffered injuries when the Toyota pickup she was in crashed on Interstate 84 near milepost 183. The vehicle was eastbound when the 20-year-old driver from Auburn, Washington, lost control. The pickup crossed onto the median and rolled several times before stopping on the westbound side of the freeway. The 19-year-old female passenger from Issaquah, Washington, suffered injuries, and an ambulance took her to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. The driver also went, but he was not injured. 4 p.m. - A customer at Harvest Foods, 1411 Sixth St., Umatilla, came into the store to report to employees that a vehicle drove up to the side of the store and stole their recycling cans. The customer supplied the store with the information about the thief’s vehicle. 5:10 p.m. - Two juveniles pulled each other on a snowboard behind a vehicle on Southwest Hailey Avenue and 13th Street, Pendleton, but police were unable to find them. 8:14 p.m. - An Irrigon resident reported a Chevrolet Suburban drove erratically between Seventh Street and California Avenue. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office sent a deputy, who found the vehicle and talked to the occupants, who said they got stuck in the snow and were sledding. 8:24 p.m. - A white 1980 Chevrolet was reported stolen from the Safeway parking lot, 220 S.W. 20th St., Pendleton. Pendleton police took a theft report. FRIDAY 2:04 a.m. - A resident of Southwest First Street, Pendleton, scared two men trying to break into his truck. The caller was unable to describe the men, and Pendleton police were unable to locate the potential thieves. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Pendleton police arrested Sade Tyel Bronson, 30, of Lewiston, Idaho, for first-degree theft (theft of more than $1,000), at the Pendleton Wal-Mart, 2203 S.W. Court Ave. •Hermiston police arrested David Daniel Diaz, 19, of Hermiston, for domestic violence fourth-degree assault and strangulation, as well as on three misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear.
