Facing the additional charges of armed robbery is Billy Joe Thorn, 28, Texarkana. Thorn was arrested about noon Saturday near Boardman by state police and brought to the county jail from Hermiston by sheriff’s deputies. The Washington warrant charges Thorn with the $10,300 robbery of Sigman’s IGA supermarket in Pasco Nov. 23. A companion in the Umatilla County burglary charge, Charles Robert Mathis, had his $5,000 bail revoked Monday by a bonding firm and is now also lodged in the county jail here. Mathis, Thorn and Mary Driggs Harris are charged with burglary in a dwelling in connection with a theft from Price’s IGA in Milton-Freewater in July. 25 Years Ago From the East Oregonian Dec. 7, 1991 Less than a week after a fire destroyed all their possessions, a young Pendleton couple is trying to regroup and find a new place to live.
