RECORDS Wednesday, November 2, 2016 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG East Oregonian OBITUARIES MONDAY 12:11 a.m. - Pendleton police responded to a disturbance at Mosa, 140 S. Main St. 4:35 a.m. - A 30-year-old La Grande man suffered injuries when the Ford F150 pickup he was driving crashed outside of Pendleton. Oregon State Police reported the driver, Robby Joe Thompson, was traveling west on Interstate 84 when he crashed near milepost 210. Thompson claimed a gust of wind hit his vehicle, causing him to cross over the fog line and drive on the gravel shoulder on the left side of the highway. He then over-corrected, lost control and crossed both lanes before the pickup rolled and came to a stop on its top on the right shoulder of the road. Thompson was able to get out of the pickup, according to information from Pendleton police, and he was in pain and bleeding from the head. An ambulance took him to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton. 7:39 a.m. - A caller reported the theft of tools from a pickup bed on the 100 block of South Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater. 8:45 a.m. - A 9-1-1 caller reported the theft of 300-400 pounds of copper wire from Lauback Street, Hermiston. 10:53 a.m. - Someone stole a three-wheeled stroller from the 10 block of Linden Drive, Milton-Freewater. 12:15 p.m. - A woman on Northeast 10th Street, Hermiston, called 9-1-1 and said a man she knows assaulted her and bloodied her lip. 1:43 p.m. - Pendleton police dealt with a disturbance at Sunridge Middle School, 700 S.W. Runnion Ave., Pendleton. 2:05 p.m. - A woman told police a man living on Southwest 18th Street, Pendleton, hits her pickup’s side mirror when he walks by and appears to be stalking her. 2:38 p.m. - Frazier Bluff Farms, 85421 Telephone Pole Road, Milton-Freewater, reported the theft of a $2,000 gener- ator and fuel from tanks. The caller also reported a syringe was at the crime scene. 2:47 p.m. - A Pendleton man told law enforcement during September he had someone watch his house while he was overseas, and when he came home he found that person had wrecked his pickup. He said he wanted to file a report. 4:20 p.m. - Pendleton fire responded to a smoke complaint on Southwest 28th Street, Pendleton, and found an illegal burn. 7:05 p.m. - An observant caller on Fruitvale Road, Milton- Freewater, reported a possible burglary at a neighbor’s home. 7:17 p.m. - Pendleton police received a call about a resident on the second block of Southeast 11th Street harassing trick-or-treaters. 7:33 p.m. - Umatilla County emergency dispatch took a report of a possible drunk driver in a four-door Honda Civic “type vehicle” that mowed down a group mailbox at West Spearman Road and Blue Bucket Lane, Hermiston. The caller said the car was going west on Spearman. Law enforcement, though, was not able to find the car. 8:16 p.m. - A resident on West Spearman Road, Hermiston, reported coming home to find someone crashed into all the mailboxes that serve the area. 9:05 p.m. - Lifeways Inc. reported a man missing from the Hilltop House Residential Treatment Home, 28 N.E. Mount Hebron Drive, Pendleton. The man did not have privileges to leave and went missing around 7 p.m. The care provider asked police to help find the man. 9:26 p.m. - A Pilot Rock resident on Southwest Birch Place told police she was home last Saturday when a male came to her door and claimed to be a technician with Charter Communications. But the person was not in a uniform, she said, nor did she see any company vehicle, so she did not let him in. She called the TV and communications provider Monday, and the company told her the male was not one of their technicians. 11:25 p.m. - A caller at Crossroads Truck Stop 2020 Highway 730, Umatilla, reported a family member in their car was “going crazy,” hitting his girlfriend and hitting the car. Police took a report but there was no indication of any arrest. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dante Lamar Marshall, 30, of Snellville, Georgia, for misdemeanor fourth-de- gree assault constituting domestic violence. Jayne Trombley Frink Mildred Mary ‘Millie’ Hanna Pendleton October 25, 1917-October 26, 2016 Heppner November 24, 1922-October 28, 2016 Jayne Trombley Frink, 99, of Pendleton died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Athena Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Pendleton, Oregon. Jayne was born on October 25, 1917, in Pendleton to Benjamin and Genevieve (Clark) Trombley. She graduated from Frink Pendleton High School in 1936. On March 14, 1943, she married Robert W. Frink. He died on February 13, 1985. After retiring as a book- keeper, Jayne did volunteer work for the Umatilla County Historical Society, the Church of the Redeemer, St. James Church, St. Anthony Hospital and was a certified Oregon Ombudsman for Adult Foster and Nursing Homes. She was also past president of Athena Study Club, Athena P.T.A. and the Pendleton Country Club Ladies Organization. She served on the board of the Umatilla County Historical Society and the Umatilla County Library Board and was a member of the Delphian Club. Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, sister Patsy Trom- bley Lerfald and daughter Jan Frink Lorenzen. She is survived by granddaughters Rachel Lorenzen Halsey (Cavin) and Kristin Lorenzen Blanchet (John); nieces Dana Lerfald Cunningham (Jim) and Leslee Lerfald Meyer (Chris), and nephew Robert Scott Lerfald (Shirley); great-grandchil- dren Corbin Halsey, Keegan Halsey, John Hunter Blanchet and Abbygale Blanchet; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Heppner United Methodist Church with concluding service and burial to follow at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery. She was born November 24, 1922, at Benchland, Montana, the daughter of John A. and Sarah M. Liebe Hajenga. Millie was raised and attended school in Montana. She then attended a Normal School College and obtained her teaching degree. She moved to Heppner where she taught school from 1945 until 1981. On May 12, 1945, she married John Leonard Hanna at Pendleton. The couple resided on the family ranch near Heppner until September of 2000 when they moved to Hermiston. (Babs) Turner passed away quietly Friday, October 28th at her residence in Troutdale, Oregon. She was born November 23, 1925, in Seattle, Washington.
