RECORDS Tuesday, October 25, 2016 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES DEATH NOTICES FRIDAY Larry Ray Maret Gloria ‘Yvonne’ Davidson Hermiston December 8, 1957-October 20, 2016 Portland Nov. 24, 1929-Oct. 9, 2016 10:10 a.m. - Someone reported seeing a cream-colored BMW Mini Cooper connected to a murder in Portland going north on North Fork John Day Road, Ukiah. 10:21 a.m. - A man on Northeast Moe Lane, Hermiston, reported his neighbor’s geese have been eating his strawberries, and Friday morning the fowl would not let his niece get out of her vehicle, and he had to shoot the birds with a BB gun to scare them away. 11:11 a.m. - A Pendleton mother told police her daughter was the victim of a beating Thursday night at a party. 11:45 a.m. - Burglars kicked in the door of a home on West Coe Avenue, Stanield, the homeowner reported, and stole property. 12:31 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice received a complaint about the people living in three camp trailers on South C Street, Lexington. They play loud music at all hours and yell and scream at each other during the nights. The caller also reported “there is a strange smell that permeates the area.” 1:28 p.m. - The counselor at Sherwood Heights Elementary School, 3111 S.W. Marshall Ave., Pendleton, asked an oficer to speak with a child about the dangers of lighting ires and playing with lighters. A city police oficer and ireighter contacted the juvenile and explained the danger of playing with ire. 3:09 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police someone stole his 1998 blue Nissan Frontier with the Oregon plate “AHHH” from Rite Aid, Melanie Square, 1900 S.W. Court Ave., Pendleton. 7:34 p.m. - A manager of the recently opened Mitori Teriyaki, 703 S.W. Court Ave., Pendleton, reported two former employees came to the restaurant during dinner service, caused a disturbance and demanded money. 9:30 p.m. - A male called 9-1-1 and reported he was running on Diagonal Road, Hermiston, and someone was chasing him in a gray truck, then the call ended. 23:22 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice received a complaint about loud music and a bonire at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center, 1705 E. Airport Road, Hermiston. 11:50 p.m. - A woman told Pendleton police a large homeless man at Baxter Auto Parts, 336 S.W. Emigrant Ave., made sexual comments and said he would hurt her. Police did not ind the man. SATURDAY 12:35 a.m. - A man reported he planned to confront the many people racing along the new Airport Road, Pendleton, because “deputies have not done anything.” Law enforce- ment responded and found no racers. 4:57 p.m. - Pendleton police responded to St. Anthony Hospital, 2801 St. Anthony Way, for an out-of-control patient on drugs. 7:24 a.m. - A woman on Tum A Lum Road, Milton- Freewater, reported she left four vehicles unlocked and someone entered them, stole items and damaged a couple of the vehicles. 2:42 p.m. - Two children on Southeast Goodwin Avenue, Pendleton, threw rocks at a man’s Chevrolet Camaro. 6:01 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police a resident on Southwest 16th Street threatened him with an ax handle and stated, “I will get you back.” 6:14 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of someone outside Mountain View Apartments, 2410 N.W. Carden Ave., Pendleton, swinging a baseball bat and yelling, “Come on out.” 7:28 p.m. - A Umatilla man told an Oregon State Police trooper his black two-door Honda Prelude broke down at Highway 730 and Interstate 84 while he as going to work in the morning, and it was gone when he returned to retrieve it. 10:59 p.m. - A babysitter — of course it was a babysitter — at a home on Southwest Frazier Avenue called 9-1-1 and reported the toddler told her there was a clown looking in the bathroom window. 11:15 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice received a complaint about drug dealing at a home on Follett Lane, Hermiston. 11:50 p.m. - A Stanield woman reported her husband hit her and she is pregnant. SUNDAY 10:25 a.m. - A Stanield man reported the theft of his Remington .12-guage shotgun from his home on East Harding Avenue. 10:45 a.m. - Pendleton police receive a report of a break-in at Wicked Kitty Tattoo & Piercing, 132 S. Main St., Pendleton. Its owner, Jason Lybrand, remains in the Umatilla County Jail on drug charges. 3:36 p.m. - A resident on Southwest Birch Street, Pilot Rock, asked to speak to police about the heavy smell of marijuana in the area. 6:20 p.m. - Umatilla police responded to Lind Road after a female reported her boyfriend assaulted her during an argument and possibly broke her hand. 7:49 p.m. - A caller told Pendleton police that about 30-45 minutes ago at Rocket Mart, 1700 S.W. Emigrant Ave., Pendleton, she watched a male hit a female and pull her around by the hair. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Pendleton police arrested Travis Lee Haguewood, 48, of Pendleton, on a contempt of court warrant and for posses- sion of methamphetamine. •A wrong-way driver in Pendleton ended up in jail for driving drunk. Oregon State Police reported trooper Darin Wong at 10:10 p.m. saw a white Ford van going the wrong way on Southwest Dorion Avenue. The van turned onto Court Avenue, where the trooper made the stop. The driver, James W. Joseph, 62, of Salem, showed signs of impairment, state police reported, and the trooper took him to the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for driving under the inluence of intoxicants. Joseph’s blood-alcohol level was .12 percent, above the legal limit. State police also cited Joseph for careless driving and failure to obey the direction of travel. Saturday •Hermiston police arrested Crystal Dyann Homan-Lara, 31, of Pendleton, for possession of methamphetamine, giving false information, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and on a warrant. •Pendleton police arrested Brittani Marie Marshall, 28, of Pendleton, on a contempt of court warrant and for posses- sion of methamphetamine. Sunday •A Hermiston man did not get to complete a sobriety test when he became threatening to a cop. Oregon State Police reported trooper Ryan Mazour at 12:47 a.m. on East Punkin Center Road, Hermiston, tried to stop a black Mazda for an equipment violation. The trooper turned on his car’s emergency lights and siren, but the Mazda kept going. The car “was all over the road,” and stopped at the intersection of East Punkin Center at North Townsend roads, according to state police, and the trooper contacted the driver, who showed “multiple signs of impairment.” Ernesto Rivera Burgos, 42, eventually agreed to take a sobriety test, state police reported, then “became dificult, stopped doing the test, balled up his right ist and told the trooper, “I’m not going to take my eye off you.” Mazour stopped trying to test Burgos and arrested him for driving under the inluence of intoxicants. The trooper booked Burgos into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, where a test showed his blood-alcohol level was .19 percent, more than twice the .08 percent legal limit. Larry Ray Maret was born December 8, 1957, at Tacoma, Washington, to parents Connie Harold and Francis (Meredith) Maret Sr. He died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at his home in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 58. He was raised and attended schools in Herm- iston. He worked as a laborer at Union Paciic Railroad, Watco Railroad, and at Marlette Homes. Larry loved his 1968 Mustang. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Maret Meredith; grand- parents Leo and May Maret; stepsister Colleen Maret Clark; and uncle Bill Maret. He is survived by his father, Connie Maret Sr., and stepmother Patricia Maret of Hermiston; companion Anita Farler of Hermiston; son Justin Maret of Hermiston; brother Connie (Kelly) Maret Jr. of Hermiston; sister Deborah (Mark) Tyler of Woodland, Wash., and their children Michelle Walker, Matt Tyler, Chris Tyler and Jason Tyler; half-brothers Brandt, Brian and Matt Littrell; half-sister Melissa Littrell of Hermiston; stepbrothers Glenn (Cindy) Maret of Irrigon, Ore., and James (Christy) Maret of Nyssa, Ore.; aunt Betty Kammerzell of Hermiston; special cousins Lori McDermott and Rocky Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herm- iston Assembly of God Church, 730 E. Hurlburt Ave., Hermiston, OR 97838.
