RECORDS Tuesday, September 13, 2016 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG FRIDAY 10:30 a.m. - A Stanield woman reported she was in bed with a broken back and her ex-boyfriend has held her down and then trashed her house. 1:54 p.m. - A Pendleton man asked to speak to an oficer about someone purchasing “inappropriate products” in his name online and sending them to his home. 2:22 p.m. - A Weston caller reported the theft of antique equip- ment from outside a residence on Pine Creek Road. 3:03 p.m. - A semitrailer went airborne after crashing into a farming tractor on the eastbound side of Interstate 82 near the Powerline Road exit, Umatilla. Oregon State Police reported the semi was going 63 mph when it came upon the tractor and its dolly going no more than 25 mph. The semi driver tried to avoid the colli- sion, lost control, hit the farming rig, lew into the air and crashed in the grassy median. No one reported injuries, according to state police, and the tractor driver received a citation. 4:59 p.m. - A man told Pendleton police he wanted to press charges after a male relative of his girlfriend’s husband — yes, girlfriend’s husband — pushed him around and threatened him. 6:42 p.m. - Look out for that goat. A resident on Rudder Lane, Hermiston, called 9-1-1 and reported the goat was loose and on the road. The goat also was too big for the caller to capture and put in its pen. 6:43 p.m. - A Umatilla woman on Yakima Street reported she paid a neighbor to put up a fence, but instead he just took the money and did nothing. 6:51 p.m. - Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice responded to a report of a neglected and abandoned dog covered in ticks at Tower Road exit off Interstate 84. Deputies found the dog and took it to Humane Society of Eastern Oregon/Pet Rescue, Hermiston. 7:17 p.m. - Several people fought in the alley behind the Packard Tavern, 118 S.E. Court Ave., Pendleton. 9:34 p.m. - A Pendleton woman reported a “very bad smell” coming from a residence behind her home off Bridle Drive. She said the people there grow marijuana or “possibly the male is cooking meth again.” 11:31 p.m. - Pendleton police received a call for help from a woman scared of the man she thought she knew. The woman reported she was dating a man who claimed to be in the National Guard in Nigeria, and then demanded she buy Apple computers and other electronics on a credit card or he would hurt her. She reported she was scared and wanted to talk to oficers. SATURDAY 9:19 a.m. - Gunshots from dove hunters spooked a horse at West Progress and North Ott roads, Hermiston. The horse owners asked the Umatilla County sheriff’s ofice to send a deputy to stop the shooting. 10:15 a.m. - A man on Diagonal Road, Hermiston, told law enforcement he needs protection from a man he has let live in his back yard. The man was a thief, has a pistol and broke the caller’s ankle last Sunday, according to the report. The caller said he now wants the man off his property, then began crying. 11:42 a.m. - A Weston resident reported a caregiver who quit on Friday also stole $400-$500 in change, $1 bills and a gold ring. 1:38 p.m. - A person with blond hair in a ponytail and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt stole a bag from a woman in a wheelchair on Northeast Gilmore Street, Heppner. 3:07 p.m. - Two juveniles did “lips” into the road on the 500 block of Southwest Dorion Avenue. The report came in from a 9-1-1 call. 5:26 p.m. - A vehicle went over the sidewalk at 915 Cowl St., Milton-Freewater, and struck the stairwell. An ambulance took the driver to a hospital. 10:06 p.m. - Someone did not pick up a mentally disabled woman from DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant, 1415 S.W. Court Ave., Pendleton, following a concert. Ralph Moratz SUNDAY ARRESTS, CITATIONS Page 5A DEATH NOTICES 1:33 a.m. - Multiple males pushed and shoved each other on the 200 block of South Main Street, Pendleton. 7:07 a.m. - A Ukiah man reported the theft of his blue Dodge van from his yard at the top of Battle Mountain near milepost 40 on Highway 395. 2:41 p.m. - A Stanield woman told police her “ex has the remains of her dog that was hit by a train and won’t return them to her.” 5:36 p.m. - A Pendleton man reported his ex-girlfriend stole his red and black Ford F350 pickup and left toward Mission. 6:28 p.m. - Goats ate a man’s trees and tore up his property off Downey Road, Boardman. 9:24 p.m. - A caller reported his vehicle sustained damage at Umatilla River Road and Bonney Lane, Umatilla, after he drove into a cooler that fell off the truck in front of him. Friday •Milton-Freewater Police Arrested William Justice, 27, of 316 Anvidon St., Pendleton, for possession of methamphetamine. Saturday •An Oregon State Police trooper responding to a man causing problems in a Hermiston business ended up arresting his signii- cant other. Trooper Tricia Draze at 2:58 p.m. went to the Short Stop Circle K, 32553 E. Punkin Center Road, Hermiston, after a man made a disturbance there. The store manager told the trooper Jerry Sanders, 55, cannot come into the business because he makes trouble. The trooper tried to ind Sanders at his nearby house, but instead only found his girlfriend, Mary Ann Sanders, 50. Draze told her about the trespass situation and also checked to see if she had warrants. She did, and the trooper hauled Mary Ann Sanders to the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton. The trooper also went back to Jerry Sanders’ home on Sunday and warned him to not to return or call the business. •Milton-Freewater Police Arrested Robert Dean Falconer, 55, Of 1308 S. Mill St., Milton-Freewater, for felony driving under the inluence of intoxicants. •Milton-Freewater Police Arrested Manuel Soto, 45, Of 621 N.W. Eighth Ave., Milton-Freewater, for domestic violence charges of harassment and fourth-degree assault. Sunday •Umatilla police used a stun gun to take down repeat offender Marco Antonio Carrillo. Umatilla police at about 5:15 p.m. at F and Seventh streets tried to arrest Carrillo, 28, of Umatilla, on a local warrant. He resisted oficer Natalia Tovey, according to court records, assaulted her and tried to get away. Umatilla police reported the short chase ended after an oficer shot Carrillo with a stun gun. Carrillo has convictions from 2007 through 2009 for burglary, theft and assault. He then skipped a court date in August related to a charge of driving under the inluence of intoxicants, which led to the arrest warrant. Carrillo on Monday pleaded not guilty to new charges of assaulting a public safety oficer, second-degree escape and resisting. His next hearing in Umatilla County Circuit Court is Sept. 19 in Pendleton, and he also remains in the Umatilla County Jail. •Hermiston police arrested Jordin Andru Grimm, 21, of 1650 W. Sunland Ave., Kennewick, Washington, for felony fourth-degree assault, interference with making a report, second-degree crim- inal mischief and harassment. The charges stem from domestic violence. Monday •Hermiston police arrested Miguel Munoz Gutierrez, 39, of Hermiston, for fourth-degree assault and harassment. The charges stem from domestic violence. East Oregonian Lyle Dunham Rogers, 92, of Pendleton died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at a Pendleton care facility. He was born April 17, 1924, in Morrill County, Nebraska. A full obituary will follow.
