RECORDS Thursday, September 8, 2016 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES TUESDAY 12:04 a.m. - A caller reported the man who broke a window a couple of months ago at Mosa, 138 S. Main St., Pendleton, keeps trying to enter the bar and refuses to leave. 12:08 a.m. - Some things you just have to have. A female in Pendleton called 9-1-1 to report her girlfriend told her that her items were outside the residence and she can come get them. The caller said she told the girlfriend to make sure her Shark mop was with the items, but when she checked, the Shark mop, indeed, was not there. She said she would wait for police. 7:58 a.m. - A woman on Baldwin Lane, Hermiston, reported someone pushed her four-wheeler down the driveway and tried but failed to start it, then just left it there. 9:13 a.m. - A man on East Walls Road, Hermiston, reported the theft of a diesel tank in a pickup-bed trailer. 10:30 a.m. - Pendleton police received a call to check on a man who was “yelling and screaming” during the downpour while wearing shorts and a tank top on Highway 11 near Northeast Riverside Place. A second caller several minutes later reported the man was soaking wet and screaming in front of Lindell’s Auto Salvage, just a block from Riverside Place, then left the area. 12:14 p.m. - Pilot Rock police received a tip about dog abuse on Southwest Cedar Street. 3:25 p.m. - A Pilot Rock resident on the 200 block of West Main Street reported a man and woman are “polluting the creek by doing their laundry in it and urinating and defecating in it.” 3:32 p.m. - A Pendleton resident asked to speak to police after falling for an IRS scam. 4:15 p.m. - A car crashed into a tree on Coffman Lane, Milton-Freewater, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The information did not indicate if the driver or anyone else suffered injuries or was OK. 5:05 p.m. - A woman in Umatilla reported she and her husband worked on their cars two days ago, and her brother’s car was there and “got scratched.” She now came home and found a scratch on the hood of her car and asked for an oficer to respond. 6:56 p.m. - Pilot Rock police checked into a report of illegal burning on Northeast Cherry Street but did not ind anything. 8:33 p.m. - A Pendleton resident on Southwest Third Street complained her neighbor blared music and won’t turn it down when she asks. Barnes Pendleton March 18, 1954-August 31, 2016 Raymond F. Barnes, 62, of Pendleton died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Port- land, Oregon. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon. Sign the online condolence book at www.burnsmor- tuary.com. Burns Mortuary of Pend- leton is in charge of arrangements. He was born Barnes March 18, 1954, to James D. and Leola (Sargant) Barnes in Pendleton, Oregon. He was raised and educated in Pendleton, graduating from Pendleton High School in 1972. He then attended Blue Mountain Community College for a time. Raymond worked in auto part sales for most of his working life. He continued to work until he was no longer able. He enjoyed ishing, working on cars and yard work. He was always helping other people. Many people would recognize Raymond driving his scooter around Pendleton with his dog Coco. He is survived by his mother, Leola Barnes of Pendleton, and brothers Jim Barnes of Pendleton and Dave Barnes and wife Carla of Redmond. He was preceded in death by his father, James D. Barnes, a sister, Carol White, and a brother, Don Tonning. Martin Richard Ochoa Bettles, 25, resident of Portland and former Mission resident, died Saturday, September 3, 2016, in Port- land, Oregon. He was raised in Mission, Oregon, attending Cay-Uma-Wa Head Start, Mission Seventh-day Adventist School, Wash- ington Elementary School, Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Wash., and Nixyaawii Charter School in Mission, Ore., graduating in 2009. He was currently a student at Portland Commu- nity College in Portland, Ore. He had lived in Mission, Ore., Chiloquin, Ore., Bellevue, Wash., and Portland, Ore. He enjoyed pow wow drumming and dancing and basketball. He was also a gifted lyricist.
