Page 6A PUBLIC SAFETY LOG East Oregonian MONDAY 7:22 a.m. - A woman reported her boyfriend broke out her driver’s side car window sometime during the day while she was asleep at her home on Umatilla River Road, Umatilla. She also reported he physically assaulted her the previous day, but didn’t have a phone to report the assault at the time. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice took a report. 7:27 a.m. - A white man with a green long- sleeved shirt and long hair tried to drive off with a car on E. Main Street, Hermiston after the owner left the keys inside. 7:37 a.m. - Pilot Rock police were advised of possible elder abuse, but were unable to make contact with the alleged victim. 8:49 a.m. - Pendleton police were called to Pendleton Square Apartments, 300 S.W. 28th Drive, to pick up a gun that was found in a grass circle outside the manager’s ofice. The caller said the weapon looked like a Glock but could also be a pellet gun. 9:11 a.m. - The Pendleton Fire Department responded to a residence on Southwest Birch Street in Pilot Rock when a 220-amp outlet in a laundry room started smoking. 9:11 a.m. - Pendleton police were called to the vicinity of Southeast 12th Street and Court Place after a caller said a man and a woman were in a domestic disturbance and pulling on a baby. 9:57 a.m. - A possible sex crime was reported to Pendleton police. 10:13 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice assisted a woman whose elderly neighbor keeps coming over and banging on her door and swearing at her at Maple Crest Apartments, 700 Wilson Lane, Boardman. 10:24 a.m. - Mail was stolen from the vicinity of Southwest Fifth Street and Isaac Avenue, Pendleton, by a man in his 20s wearing a hat and trench coat. Pendleton police were unable to ind the thief. 11:13 a.m. - A resident of a homeless camp on Umatilla River Road near Umatilla reported a window broken out of her vehicle. 12:00 p.m. - A resident of West Fourth Road, Irrigon, reported his mail stolen from his mailbox on Saturday. The caller said the mail theft also happened at the end of June and in that instance it appeared other mailboxes were emptied as well. 12:53 p.m. - Paperwork, account information, a wedding ring and more were stolen during a burglary at a home on South Broad Street, Weston. The homeowner said the burglars may have entered the house through a back window. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice took a theft report. 1:01 p.m. - A man with a rile trespassed on a property on Cactus Drive, Hermiston, and threatened another man working there. The property owner, who employs the threatened man, requested contact from a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy. 1:22 p.m. - Two unattended children, ages 3 and 5, were sitting on the sidewalk at Southeast Court Avenue and Ninth Street, Pendleton, and one of the children was stepping out into trafic, a neighbor reported. Pendleton police investigated. 1:56 p.m. - A Chihuahua was left inside a pickup with the slider window barely open and no water seen in the Hermiston Wal-Mart parking lot, according a caller. An oficer responded but couldn’t ind the truck. 2:30 p.m. - A woman reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse in the parking lot of Good Wednesday, July 20, 2016 Shepherd Community Hospital on NW 11th St., Hermiston. 3:33 p.m. - An American lag was reported stolen from a home on Southeast Ninth Street, Pendleton. 4:16 p.m. - Two men were ighting at Cassens Mobile Home Park on E. Elm Ave., Hermiston, a woman reported, and one was holding a hammer. 4:18 p.m. - A resident of West Orchard Avenue, Hermiston, reported a man walked through her back yard and attempted to open a refrigerator on her back porch and her back door. When confronted, the man asked several questions that made the caller uncomfortable and then went to the church next door when she asked him to leave. The pastor of the church also called the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice to report the man, but deputies were unable to ind him. 4:30 p.m. - An employee of Keystone RV, 3000 Westgate, Pendleton, reported his wallet stolen from his lunch box at his workstation. 5:08 p.m. - Items totaling around $5,000 were taken from a home on Diagonal Road, Hermiston, by the resident’s ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend, a man reported to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice. 5:20 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice returned to Maple Crest Apartments in Boardman to take a report for theft. 5:59 p.m. - Five or so people appeared to be assaulting an Hispanic man on E. A Morrow County sheriff’s deputy and the Boardman ambulance were called to the scene, but no one was reported injured. 8:52 p.m. - A resident of Southeast Second Street, Pendleton, reported a burglary in progress to Pendleton police. 10:18 p.m. - A woman said she has been drinking and her boyfriend told her he was going to kill her with a gun. He has guns in the house on Grouse Court, Hermiston, and was in the bedroom, but he hadn’t hurt her yet. 11:03 p.m. - A man at Pendleton Market, 2101 S.E. Court Ave., Pendleton, reported someone trying to break into Hal’s Hamburgers next door. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Pilot Rock police arrested Justin Dehn Montee, 37, 218 S.E. Douglas Street, Pilot Rock, for two counts of aggravated fourth-degree assault, a felony, after Montee’s wife reported he assaulted her and their son at their home. •Oregon State Police arrested Amber May Wetzel, 24, and John Wayne Simonson Jr., 25, both of Riverside, Calif., for possession of a stolen vehicle. An OSP deputy spotted a gray Chevrolet Tahoe stopped on the shoulder of eastbound Interstate 84 near milepost 231, and learned the Tahoe had been reported stolen from Seattle. The couple was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton. •Pendleton police cited and released Gabriel J. Ornelas, 32, 2245 16th St., Baker City, for driving under the inluence of intoxicants (alcohol) after a resident of Northwest Fifth Street reported he was asleep in his vehicle with the driver’s door open into trafic. •Oregon State Police cited and released Janet Kay Taylor, 62, Heppner, for duii (controlled substance) and speeding.
