To Shawn Henrichs the situation is both exciting and scary. Henrichs saw his lifetime dream of playing professional baseball come true Friday night when he stepped onto the mound for the irst time for the Everett Giants. Henrichs was the ace pitcher for Hermiston High School in 1989, leading them to the state Class AAA playoffs. After that he took his talents to Linn Benton Community College for two years where he helped that team win the NWAACC title this year. Shawn was drafted directly out of high school by the Montreal Expos, but declined their offers and went back into the draft, where after one year of college he was drafted again, this time by the San Francisco Giants. He elected to inish his college program at Linn Benton before going pro, but told the Giants that he would not re-enter the draft because he wanted to play for them.
