SPORTS Saturday, June 11, 2016 East Oregonian Page 3B College National Finals Rodeo Williams irst up in Blue Mountain women’s title defense Rodeo inals begin Sunday with Bull, Broncs & Breakaway East Oregonian CASPER, Wyo. — The Blue Mountain Community College women’s rodeo team begins its title defense at the College National Finals Rodeo on Sunday in the Bulls, Broncs & Breakaway perfor- mances at Casper Events Center. Danyelle Williams will make the irst of six appearances in the arena for the sophomore Timberwolf, and Tyler Potter and Kenny Haworth will compete in bareback riding for the men’s team as well. Wi l l i a m s will compete on four of the irst six days of competition before the Williams championship round on Saturday, June 18. All 12 of BMCC’s national inal- ists will compete during Monday and Tuesday’s slack rounds, which will complete the irst and second go in all events. The long round is three goes, and will compete in tie-down, steer wrestling and team roping. He’ll ride into the arena four times on Tuesday after drawing into the irst full rodeo performance that evening in steer wrestling. He’ll also compete in the Wednesday and Friday performances. Hermiston native Michael Pederson will compete for Oregon State in tie-down and also will make his third run in the Friday performance.
