Bartman Pendleton June 28, 1927-May 5, 2016 Hermiston July 13, 1945-May 5, 2016 12:28 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice received a report of a someone with a machete outside a home on Cactus Drive, Hermiston. 12:32 p.m. - Umatilla police received a 9-1-1 call that two women assaulted another woman. The victim was at a relative’s home and did not need medical attention. 3:12 p.m. - A Pilot Rock property owner told police a white GMC pickup wiped out her fence and some steel posts on Northeast Fourth Street and then parked at the end of Hawthorne Lane. 10:23 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice received a report of possible domestic violence at a mobile home trailer at Columbia Lane and Cedar Road, Irrigon. 10:27 p.m. - A man reported someone broke into the home at 249 Marshal Loop, Boardman. 11:45 p.m. - Young men started a ight inside the Sub Zero Restaurant, Irrigon, then took it out to the parking lot. Oregon State Police handled the call. SATURDAY 1:16 a.m. - A Hermiston man on North Townsend Road called the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice and said he was drunk and upset because his neighbors are hostile toward him. He said they accused him of going to the police complaining about their dogs. He said he wanted “face to face contact” and for the deputy to tell the neighbors he was not involved. A dispatcher told him someone would call him. 2:11 a.m. - Someone shattered the front window at Wicked Kitty Tattoo & Piercing, 132 S. Main St., Pendleton. 9:23 a.m. - A renter on East Wade Street, Adams, told 9-1-1 her landlord threatened immediate eviction without legal notice. 9:35 a.m. - A property manager reported a man was to remove his belongings from a residence on Cactus Drive, Hermiston, and then lit a ire in the yard. 10:41 a.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a homeless man building a structure behind Melanie Square. 11:45 a.m. - A caller reported seeing a woman drive a yellow Dodge pickup over a sign at Southwest Goodwin Avenue and Fourth Street, Pendleton, then she got out of the vehicle and yelled and screamed. 1:27 p.m. - A Milton-Freewater man reported the theft of several tools from a home on the 500 block of County Road, Milton-Freewater. 2:13 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported her debit card was used at an ATM in Lake Oswego and more than $200 was taken. 4 p.m. - Eight or nine people got into a pushing and shoving match at the One Stop, 457 E. Main St., Athena. 5:21 p.m. - A Umatilla man told police a stranger threat- ened to kill him. 5:43 p.m. - A man on Prindle Loop Road, Hermiston, reported someone broke into his barn and stole three power saws, a generator and tree trimming equipment. 8:50 p.m. - Umatilla County’s 9-1-1 center received an emergency call, but the line disconnected. A dispatcher called back and left a message, then called a second time and spoke to a man who refused to give his name, sounded agitated and “screamed that everything was ine” before hanging up. 9:37 p.m. - A Pendleton oficer initiated activity at Crabby’s Underground Saloon, 220 S.W. First St., on a report of someone throwing things at the employees from the upper level of the Brown Building. Police did not ind a suspect. 10:16 p.m. - A man in Weston reported he got into a confrontation at East Main and North Franklin Street with a man who had a gun. 10:45 p.m. - A man was hiding in bushes on West Juniper Avenue, and when the caller confronted him and asked if he was OK, he tucked his phone under his leg so the light would not show. Police were unable to locate the suspicious man. 11:14 p.m. - Six to eight people were in a disturbance on Northwest 11th Avenue, Milton-Freewater. SUNDAY 3:16 a.m. - At least 10 shots were reported in Elizabeth Court Apartments in Hermiston. 9:36 a.m. - A caller reported a break-in and theft of several items from a storage unit at Irrigon Mini Storage, 1400 E. Highway 730, Irrigon. 9:43 a.m. - Someone discarded about 20 carp on Columbia Lane, Irrigon, about 200 feet west of West Seventh Street. 12:57 p.m. - A motorcyclist crashed at Buck’s Corner on Highway 395 and Highway 730, Umatilla. 1:39 p.m. - A “persistent male” kept approaching a home on Northeast Gladys Drive in Hermiston trying to clean the home’s loors. He left in a white van and drove slowly through the neighborhood. 2:40 p.m. - An Athena man told law enforcement he was willing to sign a complaint against his neighbor on the 400 block of East High Street for their continually loud music. 6:25 p.m. - A Hermiston resident reported her credit card had been used at an ATM in Portland — she was at home in Hermiston. At 10:47 p.m., another individual contacted Hermiston Police about withdrawals from her account in Portland by an unknown person. 7:32 p.m. - A man at the Chevron station at 309 S.E. Nye Ave. Pendleton, harassed customers, asked them if they had drugs and was confrontational with employees. 11:47 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Ofice received a 9-1-1 call about someone trying to kick in a door at a home on East Main Street, Weston. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Hermiston police arrested James Andrew Phillips, 20, no address provided, for violating parole, irst-degree burglary, harassment and third-degree mischief. Saturday •Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice arrested Justin Ross Clark, 30, of Heppner, for driving under the inluence of intoxicants, two counts of harassment and two counts of menacing. •Hermiston police arrested Korina Rae Bentz, 24, of Hermiston, for irst-degree theft, irst-degree trespass, resisting arrest, violation of probation and second-degree theft. •Oregon State Police arrested Raul Meza Alvarado, 29, no address provided, for duii and on a warrant for failure to appear. •Milton-Freewater police arrested Arturo Moreno Alcantar, 39, of 311 N. Elizabeth Ave., No. F3, Milton-Freewater, for resisting arrest, assaulting a public safety oficer, furnishing alcohol to a minor, and irst- and second-degree trespass. •Milton-Freewater police arrested Thomas Wayne Bofing, 55, of 923 Col Ave., No 16, Milton-Freewater, for possession of methamphetamine. Sunday •Oregon State Police arrested Jack Dale Castator, 32, of 70499 Wilson Road, Boardman, for attempt to lee police, reckless driving and unauthorized use of a vehicle. William A. ‘Bill’ Nuess Sinton, Texas June 4, 1952-May 4, 2016 Darrel William Cecil Walla Walla April 29, 2016 Darrel William Cecil of Walla Walla, Wash., formerly of Pilot Rock, Ore., died April 29, 2016, at home at the age of 92. Darrel was born in Kahler Basin outside of Spray, Ore., to parents Ralph and Ruby (Dennison) Cecil. Darrel was raised and attended school in Spray. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Pauline Tuttle Hinton on September 15, 1944. He served three years in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After returning from the war, he worked for the Dallas Telephone Co. Later, he went to work in the lumber industry and retired in 1988 as an unloader operator at Harris Pine Mills. He loved to ish, hunt and tell stories of things that happened in his life. Survivors include his son Page 5A Gene and wife Charlotte Cecil; daughter Becky and husband Scott Furstenberg; grandchildren Brenda Davis, Ryan Cecil, Jake Furstenberg and Maddie Furstenberg; and six great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; brothers Percy and Vern Cecil; and sister Gerldine Gates.
