The dogs also do not have available food or water. 2:09 - A resident of B & M Mobile Home Court, 2903 N.E. He knew nothing about the product, though, and the passenger in his vehicle was passed out. But the farmer got the dark green Toyota Highlander’s license plate. 10:59 p.m. - Pendleton police received a 9-1-1 call from a man who said he was intoxicated, could not make it home, did not have any money and asked police to give him a ride. 11:02 p.m. - The Pendleton ambulance service received a call-out for a male who fell and hit his head on Southwest Athens Avenue, Pendleton, suffered a bleeding bruise and was in and out of consciousness. Emma Sarah Roberts Iris Dykstra Christiansen Echo July 13, 1929-March 12, 2016 Redmond May 14, 1928-March 14, 2016 Emma Sarah Roberts was born on July 13, 1929, at Poverty Flats on Cabbage Hill, east of Pendleton, Oregon, to parents Lester and Ina Palmer Shafer. She died on March 12, 2016, at her home in Echo, Oregon, at the age of 86 years surrounded by her family. Emma attended school on Poverty Flats before moving in with her grandma in Pendleton and graduating from Pendleton High School. She was well known for training and breaking horses in the Pendleton and Roberts Hermiston areas. Emma met Jack Roberts when his brother went to borrow money from Dad to take Mom out. Dad rode up on a horse, and Mom thought, “My tall handsome cowboy,” until he stepped off the horse. She married Jack W. Roberts on July 10, 1958, in Waitsburg, Wash- ington. They lived in Adams, Oregon, until 1961 when they moved to Echo, Oregon, where she has lived since. Emma worked at the Pendleton Woolen Mills for 25 years, never missing a day of work. The last 10 years of Jack’s life he drove her to and from work. It did not matter the age, all loved spending time on the well-known front porch. <ou could always ¿nd Emma drinking a cold one and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed puzzles and gardening. She is survived by her children: Kenny and Debbie Roberts, Jerry and Marie Roberts, Tracie and Jake Broyles, Sunnie and Bill Wright, and Alvin Roberts; friends and neigh- bors Sheryl Morris and son Justin Morris, who Emma thought of as a grandson; sister Ruth Mead; 20 grandchil- dren; and twin great-grand- children. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Roberts; son Sheldon Rodney Roberts; and her parents. A private burial was held at the Echo Cemetery, Echo, Oregon.
