The caller said she was scared to go home and did not know the other driYer Eut she liYes on the 00 Elock of Walla Walla Street. 9: a.m. - A father in Stan¿eld reported his son died and now his daughter-in-law will not let him haYe his son¶s certain guns, boat and other items. 9:49 a.m. - A man on 1ortheast 0oe /ane, +ermiston, shot at a pit bull that attacked his dog. The man hit near the pit bull, which liYes ne[t door. +e asked for 8matilla County sheriff¶s deputy “to get this resolYed as this isn¶t the ¿rst time that the dog has attacked something.” 10:1 a.m. - 3endleton¶s code enforcement of¿cer dealt with a large amount of garbage accumulating near a trailer on Southeast 16th Street. 12:26 p.m. - A manager at the Sinclair station and mart at 701 Southgate, Pendleton, reported $400 missing from the business deposit. 12:29 p.m. - A caller reported the theft of her car from the parking lot at Shari¶s Restaurant, 19 S..( 1ye AYe., Pendleton. 4:27 p.m. - Four MuYeniles went door-to-door on Southwest 4uinney 'riYe, Pendleton, and asked residents if they could use their Wi-Fi Internet. 7:2 p.m. - Pendleton police receiYed an anonymous report of a dog chained to a tree for days without food or water at Southwest Si[th Street and *oodwin AYenue. 11:09 p.m. - A woman entered %ucknum¶s TaYern, 152 1. 0ain St., +eppner, and said a man beat her with a steel post. An ambulance took her to Pioneer 0emorial +ospital, +eppner, and a 0orrow County sheriff¶s deputy took a report and spoke with her and the possible suspect. 11:6 p.m. - The alarm sounded at the Irrigon 0ini 0art, 420 (. +ighway 70, Irrigon. A 0orrow County sheriff¶s deputy found someone broke in through the restroom window and may haYe left through the back door. 11:44 p.m. - A woman on (astside Road, 0ilton-Freewater, called 9-1-1 and reported a white man in his 0s came to her door with a Àashlight and stated he was with the ¿re department but showed no credentials. +e had dark hair and wore a Yest, she reported, and claimed to be looking for the 500 block and wanted to know what her address was. The man left on foot and walked south past the ¿re station. She asked for a 8matilla County sheriff¶s deputy to check to make sure he was who he said he was. There was no information about a deputy ¿nding the man. HONOR ROLL WSU names fall semester honor roll PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s President’s Honor Roll for the 2015 fall semester recog- nizes students who stand above the rest with excellent academic performance. To be eligible for the honor roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine graded hours in a single term at WSU and earn a grade point average of 3.75 or earn a 3.50 cumulative GPA based on 15 cumulative hours of graded work. She went to her last resting place the way she wanted to, surrounded by many family members. Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, with concluding services and interment in the Weston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saling House Restoration through the funeral home. Lyn was born March 10, 1931, in Weston, Oregon, the daughter of Donald R. and Edith “Loretta” McCorkell Johnson. With the exception of going to school for three years outside of Yakima, Wash., Lyn spent her entire life in Weston, Ore., a place she loved. She graduated from Weston High School in 1949. Lyn married her love and constant companion, Bob Delph, on July 11, 1949. They were married for 59 years. Bob preceded her in death on January 2, 2009. Lyn and %REORYHGFDPSLQJ¿VKLQJ hunting and just about any other outdoor activity. They were camp hosts of different campgrounds. Lyn enjoyed hunting until three years ago when she (proudly?) got her ¿UVWWLFNHW Lyn worked all of her life. She and Bob owned and operated different busi- nesses: grocery, hardware, meat cutting, restaurant and saloon. She also worked as an accountant, but her accomplishment was as a great mother and role model to so many people. She was the Umatilla County Pioneer Queen in 1966. She served the community in many ways including mayor of Weston, Saling House Committee, Umatilla County Pioneer Association, Weston City Planning Committee and the credit union. Lyn’s loving, even-tem- pered guidance helped all of her surviving six children and their spouses, Sheldon and Heidi Delph, Duane and Freda Delph, Tom and Judy Delph, Rick and Patty Delph, Ed and Debbie Delph, and Janet and Kent Sasser; one brother, Bill Johnson; a sister-in-law and broth- er-in-law, Joe and Carlene Hearn; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog and cat. Lyn had many family PHPEHUV EXW VKH KDV LQÀX- enced more people with her FDOPLQJ LQÀXHQFH DQG KHU “steady hand” in so many ways. When she and Bob ZHUH¿VKLQJDW8QLW\/DNHLQ their boat, Lyn held her pole so steady that a bird landed on the pole and rode perched there, preening its feathers for a long time. Patricia Darlene “PJ” Jensen of La Grande died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in La Grande, Oregon. A rosary and viewing will be held Thursday, March 17 at 4:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. The funeral will take place at the church the following day, Friday, March 18 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Pat was born May 14, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to Michael and Ava Baseel. She graduated from high school in St. Helens and Jensen DWWHQGHG 3DFL¿F University where she met her husband, Lyle Jensen. They both went on to graduate from barber and beauty school before moving to Heppner, Oregon. They were married in St. Helens in 1958. Pat worked as a hair dresser in Heppner while also being involved with the local kindergarten classes. In 1971, she and her family moved to Adams, before moving to La Grande in 1972. She changed careers and worked at Jimmy Cricket Day Care, Grande Ronde Child Center, Center for Human Development and Evergreen Health and Rehab where she retired from in 2003. She was an active member of her church, enjoyed gardening and travel and took great pleasure in helping others. She was a loving mother to her four children and enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and great-grand- children. Pat is survived by her husband, Lyle; sons Jody Jensen and his wife, Kim, of Hillsboro, and Michole Jensen and his wife, Jo, of Portland; daughters Renee Jensen Reinhardt and her husband, Konrad, of Portland, and Lisa Holt and her husband, Kurt, of Pocatello, Idaho; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Winburn PENDLETON Exhibit provides grocery shopping experience East Oregonian There’s a new Grocery Outlet in town — located in downtown Pendleton, it caters to pint-sized shoppers. The Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon recently opened the Grocery Outlet Market and Deli exhibit. Children can push kid-sized VKRSSLQJFDUWVDQG¿OOWKHP with their favorite fruits, vegetables, dairy products DQGEUHDG$IWHU¿OOLQJWKHLU carts, kids can check out at the cash register and pay the cashier. Opportunities are boun- tiful in the new exhibit for role-playing and interactive learning in the familiar, yet fascinating environment of a grocery store, said Heidi Anderson, children’s museum director. The project, Anderson said, would not have been possible without the help of the Pendleton Grocery Outlet owners.
