Hubbard Pendleton August 26, 1953-February 25, 2016 Hermiston October 19, 1954-February 24, 2016 La Grande January 13, 1952-February 24, 2016 Karin Olsen Jackson passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon, on Thursday, February 25, 2016. She recently had been hospitalized as a result of several medical issues. She was 62 years of age. Karin was born in Pendleton, Oregon, on August 26, 1953, to Jack William Olsen and Helen Egan Olsen. She attended public schools in Pend- leton and graduated Pendleton High School in 1971. She lived, raised her family, and worked Jackson in the Pendleton area all of her life. In 1970, Karin married Glenn “Pete” Rosenberg. They settled in Pendleton, and had two children, Rex Eric Rosenberg and KC Rosenberg. In 1978, Karin married Donald Jackson, also of Pendleton. Karin had a long and successful career providing medical care and living assis- tance to those in need. She worked for several years at Delamarter Care Center, and later at the Eastern Oregon Psychological Center, both in Pendleton. As a child, Karin enjoyed animals. She was a member of 4-H, and always was fond of dogs and horses. She enjoyed her friends. She loved hiking and exploring in the Blue Mountains, picking huckleberries and mush- rooms, horseback riding, hunting, and looking for deer and elk sheds. She was with her husband Donald Jackson when he prematurely passed away of a heart attack while they were looking for elk sheds. Karin rode horses her entire life with various riding groups, competed at the Pendleton Mustangers as a child and always tried to keep a horse for riding at her farm east of Pendleton. Karin is survived by her two sons, Rex Eric Rosenberg of Pendleton, Oregon, and KC Rosenberg of Gainesville, Georgia, KC’s wife Lucy Rosenberg, and three grand- children, Grif¿n Rosenberg, Jacob Rosenberg and Ethan Rosenberg, together with step- sons Thad Jackson and wife Andrea and Arron Jackson and wife Brittney, and stepgranddaughters Tegan, Marisa, Brelin, Brinley, Mazie, Kyra, Ava, Halle and Kinley Jackson. Karin also is survived by two siblings, Susan Olsen Corey and John Olsen, both of Pendleton, nephews Michael John Hoke Corey and Travis Olsen, and niece Megan Corey Fursten- berg, all of Pendleton. As well, she is survived by her close friend and lifetime supporter Sonja Erickson Hart. A service will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel. Burial will be held at the Athena Ceme- tery following the service. The family asks that in lieu of Àowers that remem- brances for Karin be sent to Good Samaritan Legacy Transplant, in care of the funeral home. For more information, call 541-966-0818 or 1-800-522-0255, ext. 221. Gary Ray Lovell was born October 19, 1954, at Ft. Lewis, Washington, to parents Marvin Dale and Norma Jane (Zollman) Lovell. He died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington, at the age of 61. He was raised in Wallowa County and graduated from Wallowa High School in 1972. He moved to the Hermiston, Oregon, area in 1972. Gary operated his sheep shearing business all over the Northwest and even one trip to Alaska. He owned Lovell and operated the Cozy Corner Tavern in Hermiston for 20 years. On May 12, 2007, he married Carolleen Carper in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Gary served on the Umatilla County Fair Board, served as a livestock judge and ran the Jackpot Lamb Competition. He enjoyed ¿shing, hunting, cooking, canning, crabbing, gardening, and gol¿ng. He is survived by his wife Carolleen of Hermiston; father Marvin (Evelyn) Lovell of Umapine, Ore.; sons Travis (Sarah) Lovell and Brian Lovell, both of Hermiston, Ore.; daughter Jennifer (Travis) Dorsey of Kentucky; brother Sammy Lovell of Hermiston, Ore.; sister Jackie (David) Huston of Ilwaco, Wash.; six grandchildren, Chance, Owen, Jade, Ajay, Ashly and Brynn; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma. Viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary of Herm- iston.
