Davis, “Grandma Chipmunk,” 72, of Meacham passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 11th, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Emigrant Springs Commu- nity Building at Emigrant Springs State Park near Meacham, Ore., with a potluck luncheon following the service. A scattering of her ashes will be held at the “Chipmunk Ranch.” Davis Charlene was born April 15, 1943, to Ed and Joyce E. (Bonnell) Parham in Tacoma, Wash. She was raised and attended schools in Bethel, Wash., and graduated from Bethel High School. She married Earl Papineau in Sumner, Wash., in November of 1962, and they made their home in Lexington, Ore. The couple had two sons, Dale and Dennis Papineau. Dale preceded her in death at the age of three, of leukemia. She and Earl later divorced. She married Walter Davis on April 1, 1995, and they made their home in Meacham. Charlene had worked a multitude of jobs, from ranching to construction to secretarial. She also worked as a professional race horse trainer. She was a tour guide for the Pendleton Under- ground Tours, for KUMA Radio in advertising and Red Lion as a hostess. She was a member of the Lexington and Tillicum granges, and later the Meacham Mountain Ladies Club. She was a member of the Spout Springs Repeater Association, and was very active in Ham radio and emergency communication. Her call sign was KC7RQF, “Really Quiet Female” or “Rarely Quiet Female.” KC7RQF is now a “Silent Key.” She enjoyed hunting and ¿shing as well as photography. She loved nature and being in the mountains. She really enjoyed the deer and turkeys that visited her yard year-round. Charlene is survived by her husband, Walt Davis of Meacham; her son, Dennis Papineau and wife Tanya of Athena; grandchil- dren Kari Papineau of Pilot Rock and Gregory, Levi, Curtis and Calvin Papineau of Athena; stepchildren Sam Westover of Pendleton, Jack and Cheryl Davis of Pend- leton, Dale Davis of Elgin, Susan Langley of Spring¿eld, Ore., and Patricia Whitteker of Lakeside, Ore.; stepgrand- children Kyra and Keenan Davis, Pendleton, Jennifer Westover, Las Vegas, Nev., Wyatt and Jennifer Davis, Pilot Rock, Sonny Vickroy, Adrian Cooley, Bobby Sue Stecht and Tracy Heinz; and many nieces and nephews, as well as several aunts and uncles. January 23, 1921-February 21, 2016 Irene Lillian Thorgersen passed away February 21, 2016, in Kennewick, Washington. She was born January 23, 1921, in Spokane, Washington, to Amanda Gertrude Mason and Frank Heden. Irene married Norman Thorgersen on May 2, 1942. For the past 66 years, she was an active member of her local Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pasco and Pend- leton, Oregon. Irene enjoyed a career in sales and marketing. Her favorite activities were water aerobics and walking, which continued into her late 80s. She loved being together with family and celebrating family occasions. She will be missed by her family and friends. Irene is survived by her four children, Carol Lansing of Kennewick, Washington; Linda Crisp of Bozeman, Montana; Noreen Krogstad of Grand Terrace, Cali- fornia; and Paul Thorgersen of Pendleton, Oregon; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
