The council for the Pendleton church recently voted to give each $400, for a total of $2,400. Those receiving funds include The Salvation Army Pendleton Corps; Young Life of Pend- leton; Lost & Found Youth Outreach via Danny Bane; Gideons of Pendleton; Samar- itan’s Purse; and Compassion International. Faith Lutheran Church meets each Sunday for a 9 a.m. Bible study and 10:30 a.m. worship service in the Oregon Trail Room at the Red Lion, 304 S.E. Nye Ave., Pendleton. Everyone is welcome. It was not until the next morning that I discovered it was missing. After searching the house and car to see if it had fallen out of my purse, I drove to town and started checking stores I had been to the day before. I went to Wal-Mart’s lost and found and gave them my name and a description of my wallet. But I had some serious doubts that anyone would turn it in. I was wrong! Some kind honest person had found it and turned it in to lost and found. Words can’t begin to describe how relieved I am. Unfortu- nately, I do not have any way to contact and thank this “angel.” I can only hope they read this and see my thank you. There are honest people in this world. But sadly we only seem to hear about the ones who are not. Merry Christmas to this person and thank you for helping to make mine a whole lot happier. Community Bank distributes part of the money raised from its annual Holiday Charity Drive. Community Bank gives during holiday season More than $24,000 was distrib- uted during Community Bank’s annual Charity Drive. Held during from November through December 18, the program collects donations in branches to bene¿t charities in that same community. This season a grand total of $24,116.03 in donations and bank matches were dispersed to charities assisting local citizens in need. The bank matches up to $500 per branch at 50 cents on the dollar. The project included 13 participating branches. Amounts and the charity donations given to organizations in Umatilla and Morrow counties included: Milton-Freewater City Light and Power Energy Assistance Program through The Salvation Army (Milton-Freewater branch), $1,975. Neighborhood Center Food Bank (Heppner branch), $790. Neighbor 2 Neighbor Warming Station (Pendleton branch), $525. Martha’s House (Hermiston branch), $510. Since 2010, the Community Bank Charity Drive has provided more than $119,000 to charities in the region. Community Bank thanks all the people and clubs that donated to the fundraising efforts.
