RECORDS Thursday, August 20, 2015 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG TUESDAY •Pendleton police at 9:58 a.m. received a report of a blue pickup pulling a trailer while following a babysitter and the children she was caring for at Grecian Heights Park, Pendleton. •A Boardman resident at 10:41 a.m. reported the theft of mail, including birthday parcels, from Mountain View Drive. •A caller at 10:47 a.m. reported someone between 7:30 and 9 a.m. stole a new, green Lamborghini-style Power Wheels children’s electric car from her residence on Southwest 11th Street, Hermiston. •A Pendleton woman living on Southwest 10th Street told police at 11:46 a.m. someone threw feces on her front door. •A caller at 12:09 p.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s 2I¿FHDERXWDWKHIWRIFDVKIURPDUHVLGHQFHRQ1RUWK Ott Road, Hermiston. The case is under investigation. •Umatilla police at 1:48 p.m. received a report of at least two PHQ¿JKWLQJRQHRIZKRPKDGDEDUEHOORXWVLGHDUHVLGHQFHRQ Fifth Street. •A male at 3:27 p.m. told Umatilla police he saw someone throw a lit cigarette out of the window while they were driving on Umatilla River Road and Sixth Street, Umatilla. $Q$GDPVPDQDWSPUHSRUWHGWKHWKHIWRIKLV 2013 Honda all-terrain vehicle from his residence. $FDOOHUDWSPRQ1RUWKZHVW+$YHQXH3HQGOHWRQ reported the theft of four Round-Up tickets. •A man at 5:51 p.m. reported someone dug up home plate at WKH0LOWRQ)UHHZDWHU/LWWOH/HDJXH¿HOG •A motorcyclist may have suffered a broken leg in a crash shortly before 7 p.m. on Highway 37 about 12 miles outside Pendleton. The rider reported the crash and his injury. He said the wreck happened when he tried to avoid a deer. He said a motorist was helping him and he had to travel a couple of miles from the crash site to have cellphone service. •A wanted man got away from Pendleton police. A Pendleton police sergeant at 8:45 p.m. tried to arrested an Emitt Bannister on the 3100 block of Southwest Issac Avenue on the basis of a Washington County parole and probation warrant. %DQQLVWHUÀHGDIWHUWKHVHUJHDQWWROGKLPKHZDVXQGHUDUUHVW 2I¿FHUVVHDUFKHGIRU%DQQLVWHUEXWGLGQRW¿QGKLP3ROLFHPDGH a report of the incident and added a new charge for arresting Bannister — third-degree escape. •A Umatilla resident at 11:02 p.m. reported a burglary at her residence at Marina Apartments, 1600 Second St., Umatilla. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Law enforcement at about 8:30 a.m. responded to a call about a man and woman yelling at and pushing each other on West Van Buren Street, Athena. Umatilla County sheriff’s depu- ties and Oregon State Police troopers arrived and arrested Ken Miner and Daytine Wagoner, no ages or addresses provided, for possession of a controlled substance. •A Memphis semi driver ended up in jail after trying to avoid orders not to drive. Highway authorities placed Lawrence Peterson, 23, out of service at the Cotterel Port of Entry on the Idaho-Utah border for multiple driving and log book violations, according to Oregon State Police. Peterson then “jumped” the out-of-service order and drove six more hours to the Emigrant Hill weigh station on Interstate 84 near milepost 226. Oregon Department of Transportation employees, though, inspected his books and called for state police at about 11:50 p.m. A trooper arrested Peterson and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, for violating the out-of-service order. DEATH NOTICES Jena H. Doherty Hermiston July 28, 1932-Aug. 18, 2015 Jena H. Doherty, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, in Hermiston. She was born July 28, 1932, in Spokane, Wash. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at Burns Mortuary chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements. Wanda Saager Milton-Freewater Sept. 11, 1923-Aug. 17, 2015 Wanda A. Saager, 91, of Milton-Freewater died Monday, Aug. 17, 2015. She was born Sept. 11, 1923. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. The most important update is that the Class Reunion & Community Dinner is Saturday evening from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Pilot Rock Community Center.
