RECORDS Wednesday, July 22, 2015 East Oregonian PUBLIC SAFETY LOG OBITUARIES MONDAY •A Pendleton woman living on Southgate Place told law enforcement at 10:11 a.m. she lives 25 feet outside the city line and feral cats in the neighborhood have been killing her chickens. She asked the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Of¿ce for her options as to what to do with the cats. •An employee of Thompson RV, Inc., 1201 Southgate, Pendleton, at about 1 p.m. found a Smith & Wesson .380 handgun in one of the coaches. •A Pendleton man at 2:23 p.m. reported his mother on Thursday stole some cannabis from his house on Southwest Sixth Street. •A resident of Shady Rest Mobile Home Park, 28716 Highway 730, Umatilla, told law enforcement at 5:06 p.m. he confronted a man over a bad check, and the man assaulted him. He declined medical help but wanted to talk to a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy. •A caller at 5:23 p.m. from the Pilot Travel Center, 2115 Highway 395, Stan¿eld, reported a Hispanic woman in a white Ford Taurus drove in during the morning, threw a small chihuahua from the car and drove off. The dog would not let anyone near it, the caller said, and ask for law enforcement to catch it. •A Hermiston-area man on Bloom Road at 8:09 a.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Of¿ce two large goats were in his yard all day and he ¿nally moved the goats to a pasture so they would stop destroying the plants around the house. He said he did not know who owned the goats. •A Stan¿eld resident on East Coe Avenue at 9:40 p.m. reported she was raking the grass in the back yard when the neighbor from the 300 block of North Earl Avenue grabbed her garbage can and yelled at her. The neighbor’s wife separated them. The caller asked for police to come to the scene. •A woman at 9:50 p.m. reported a break-in at her resi- dence on Eastside Road, Milton-Freewater and the theft of jewelry and .38 caliber handgun. ARRESTS, CITATIONS •Milton-Freewater police arrested Garry L. Pitts, 41, of Milton-Freewater, for misdemeanor domestic violence charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment and on a Linn County warrant. •Pendleton police arrested J R Wise, 52, no address provided, for possession of methamphetamine and third-de- gree escape. •Umatilla tribal police arrested Woodrow Adrian Smith, 48, no address provided, for unauthori]ed use of a vehicle. •Stan¿eld police arrested Gregory Clinton Cline, 52, of Echo, for misdemeanor harassment and fourth-degree assault. •Oregon State Police arrested Marco Antonio Garcia, 29, no address provided, for unauthori]ed use of a vehicle. SCHOLARSHIPS PEO BJ awards Masenhimer scholarships PENDLETON — Lexie Lorraine Campbell of Pilot Rock is the recipient of the Gladys and Harry Masen himer Memorial Schol arship for 2015. She was awarded a $2,500 scholar ship by the Masenhimers’ sons, Brent, Mark and Blair Masenhimer, for use during the 20152016 academic year. Campbell has been accepted into the nursing program at Blue Mountain Community College and begins her studies this fall. She is the daughter of Ryan and Christy Campbell. The Gladys and Harry Masenhimer Memorial Scholarship is given annually, and Oregon State P.E.O. Chapter BJ selects recipients for this honor from among outstanding women who are pursuing advanced degrees. An additional $1,200 scholarship given by the members of Chapter BJ itself — also in honor of the Masenhimers — has been awarded this year to Sierra Carey, who will be a senior biology major at Lin¿eld College in McMin nville this fall. Sierra is the daughter of Jennifer Carey. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for women around the world. P.E.O. has more than 240,000 members in the United States and Canada. Charles William ‘Chuck’ White Bunnie Jean McCallister Zander Kennewick, Wash. March 24, 1936-July 19, 2015 Pendleton April 4, 1931-July 17, 2015 Charles (Chuck) William White, of Kennewick, Wash., passed away in Hood River, Ore., on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Charles was born March 24, 1936, to Charles and Sophie White in Olean, N.Y. Chuck was second of ¿ve children three sisters, Molly, Mary and Sally, and brother Bob. Chuck lived in New York until age 19. Afterward he moved to the 3aci¿c Northwest. In 1971 he moved from Wapato, Wash., to Hermiston, Ore., after accepting a position as a district manager with Farmers Insurance. He held this position until retiring in 2005. During his career with Farmers White he earned several achievement awards. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Hermiston and the Eagles in Kennewick. He enjoyed golf and cars. He was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara. He is also survived by his children Vickie, Carmil and Tony; grandchildren Rachel, Alex, Ethan, Ben, Tyler, Katie and Amy; and ¿ve greatgrand daughters. Preceded by sisters Molly, Mary and Sally, and grandchild Kevin. Services are planned for 200 p.m. Saturday, August 1st, 2015, at Burns Mortuary (685 W. The proposed action may have an adverse effect on historic properties of religious and cultural significance eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places at NWSTF Boardman. Stipulations of the Draft MOA to minimize potential adverse effects that are being considered by the parties are: develop a monitoring plan for historic properties on NWSTF Boardman, develop education and training materials for personnel using the range, and implement specific actions to protect known historic properties.
