He gave the name of the thief to a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy. •7he Umatilla County 6heriff’s 2f¿ce at 7: a.m. received a request for backup from the Oregon State Police at Space Age Travel Center, 77522 Highway 207, Hermiston. OSP reported a man had been driving more than 100 miles per hour on Interstate 8 in his underwear before pulling into the travel center. On contact the man complained of chest pains, but refused a ride in an ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center. •Milton-Freewater police at 8:52 a.m. received a report of a shed broken into at McLoughlin High School, 120 S. Main St., and a control panel taken. •Pendleton police were called to St. Anthony Hospital at 11:32 a.m. by a woman who gave her daughter a ride to the hospital and the daughter destroyed the inside of her car. Mother and daughter were arguing in the parking lot and the caller requested an of¿cer respond. •A Milton-Freewater resident at 2:50 p.m. reported her phone was stolen from the Let’s Go Inn on July 2. A Milton-Freewater police of¿cer took a theft report. •A woman in a wheelchair outside Pendleton City Hall, 500 S.W. Dorion Ave., fell and dropped her belongings at 3:05 p.m. A man helped her out and then took one of her bags and hid it in some bushes. The woman requested a Pendleton police of¿cer. •Pendleton police at :31 p.m. received a report of a wedding ring lost or possibly stolen from a home on Southwest th Street. •An employee of the Pendleton Aquatic Center, 1800 N.W. Carden Ave., called Pendleton police at 7:08 p.m. to assist two 7-year-old boys who had no way to get home because the shuttle was not running. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Thursday •Lois Anne Hibbits, 8, was arrested by the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Of¿ce after someone asked for police at a residence on Northwest Columbia Avenue, Boardman. The caller said Hibbits was “tearing up the downstairs.” Hibbits was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, both misdemeanors, and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton. •Juan Luis Ayala Garduno, 33, address not provided, was arrested by Boardman police on charges of ¿rst-degree kidnapping, ¿rst-degree robbery, unauthori]ed use of vehicle, interfering with making a report on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. He is being held in the Umatilla County Jail in lieu of $123,500 in bail bonds. •Stan¿eld police arrested 5obert Martin Doty Jr., 51, on a charge of aggravated fourth-degree assault after his girlfriend called to report he had thrown her against the door at their residence in front of their two children.
